oof...I absolutely know how it feels to be in a state like that, like...existing in North Carolina throughout the last governor's (Pat McRory) reign against trans folks, THAT mess nearly ran all my ppl away & i never "came out" knowing the local sentiment was bad. Now we have someone worse running for that office, like 5 times worse. Granted things still suck here, but i'm atleast "out" now...only regret not starting sooner but oh well. Hope the rest of this journey goes by without anymore hang ups! I'm sorry it's been a pain in more ways than one!

The struggle is real and I'm sorry to hear how stressful and difficult things are being made for you and hope you are still managing. Everything really takes FOREVER and everyone and everything makes it so difficult when it really doesn't have to be ugh! It took a 3-year waiting list for me to even get my first appointment with the trans healthcare system in my country and then have to go through a whole year of monthly appointments in which they basically look through your whole life to hopefully diagnose you. Waiting lists for surgeries are years long too, you can only join them after being on HRT for a year, and insurance companies sure do everything in their power to deny you and to not have to pay a single cent. What I am somehow thankful for is all the time I've had to really look into who I am and to try to work on self-love and self-acceptance. Even though it's obviously extremely difficult to deal with and dysphoria never gives you a break, I have managed to learn how to deal with it better and to try rewire it. I have learned not to put so much value on my appearance and to make sure everything I'm doing/getting done is true to myself and not because I don't want other people to judge me for it. Also just not being so god damn hard on yourself, especially for things that are completely out of your control, gosh we can be mean to ourselves.. I used to be so opposed to being in between genders and wanted to be a so called ''real woman''.. The further I get into this journey, the more I realize that things aren't black and white and that it's okay to end up being different from what you initially thought you were going to be. For me personally, finding acceptance with my trans identity, realizing that I will never be a biological woman, and learning to be okay with that have felt like a massive weight lifted off my shoulders. I can be my own type of woman. Finding the difference between gender dyphoria and general dyphoria any human can feel is also quite difficult sometimes. I'm still working on that..

I’m not sure if it’s the same but I had hernia surgery and I believe there was a Surgeon, an anesthesiologist and a surgical nurse. Most of the money doesn’t go to the surgeon, anesthesiologist and the surgical nurse. Most of the money goes to the corporate goons that on the hospital. On the other hand, You had the orchidectomy And you look and sound like a chick so you’re a chick. The other thing is, this type of surgery is dangerous compared to other other surgeries so maybe this isn’t such a bad thing. Maybe there’s some way not to be freaked out about having a little tally whacker?

No matter how successful you emerge from your journey of transformation, nothing will ever give you back the years that you otherwise spent suffering. As I wrote, I am transexual as well, and I entirely sympathize with you, but, for the life of me, I cannot accept that you had raised an issue over the way the nurse posed questions to you. She was wrong. There is no doubt about that, but there was no malice. An innocent error is no cause for you to discount common sense, reason, understanding and, above all, proportionality. You should have used your common sense, reason, understanding and sense of proportion to remember that you are living in society, where not everybody is the same and that, to the greatest extent possible, we all need to learn to live together. Basically, what I am stating is that you should have just relegated to memory the incident with the nurse, instead of bringing it up again, because, as wrong as she was, her error was objectively inconsequential: your surgery was a success, and I do not think that you suffered an excessively great emotional trauma by being asked about your transsexualism. We have to accept and deal with the reality that transsexualism, as much as it may be currently in the spotlight, is still and will be for a long time yet, a novelty (somewhat taboo, to boot) for most people, like the nurse, whose only misdeed was wanting to learn and to understand. You have to expect peoples’ curiosity (the glares and the questions) and accept it with tact and grace. Instead, by discussing with your doctor your interaction with the nurse, you more than likely got her fired or at least risked getting her fired. Neither of the two scenarios would be justified under the very innocuous circumstances that you described.

Since transitioning, I have had multiple occasions of people, misgendering me, in what seem like extremely professional settings, and the lack of education there is astonishing. I haven’t had bottom yet but thank you for this video. I think orchi is the way for me to go if/when I go that route. Thank you for this informative video and sorry you had to go through that bad experience with the uneducated medical staff. They need to step up their game. 🏳️‍⚧️🩷🏳️‍⚧️

Checking in 2 years later. Have there been more surgeries? Did castration cure the dysphoria or are more surgeries required? It seems plastic surgery is addictive. It helps make some surgeons dough.

What were the main reasons to do this before bottom surgery? Context: I've been wanting this for years even before my egg cracked without knowing why. Now, my main reasons are wanting to kill all male hormones to help with the anxiety it creates knowing they are being produced even though I'm on HRT. Another one is i want everything down there reduced as small as possible so i don't have to tuck which is so uncomfortable. How about you?

There's only so much they can put in the books. Society and medical knowledge moves along with the decades. This entire trans-boom is only something that came about in the last 10 years. Even if it's not trans, any other new type of medical procedure that's cutting edge is probably gonna garner some questions from curious nurses. I think their experience is arguably more important than what they learn in the books because it teaches practical applications vs. textbook scenarios (that don't always happen).

I'm so sorry you are running into barriers. You should not have to jump through hoops to get a psychiatrist to DO THEIR JOB! You should not have to FIGHT WITH INSURANCE!

People who are castrated for other medical reasons don’t advertise their castration. Another unique element to this issue.

I have been on spiro for 8 years, my negative side affects appear to be increasing, so now is the time for me to act fast.. I am nervous. Thank you for easing some of my fears.. I am eager to move forward, and away from spiro once and for all..🌻

There is nothing wrong with trying to educate yourself by going to the source with your questions. Maybe you are to sensitive or she was not very tactful. Or both. You are beautiful you just need more confidence in yourself. Go out and WOW them girl!!!! And get your nose fixed, because you will look more feminine with a smaller nose.
