Ali express purchase of MC1377P Pal encoder IC's. These were placed in the socket on one of my QL's and powered on (one by one). I checked for picture quality/stability and colours. All 20 seemed fine and cost about £0.22 each delivered.
49Mhz mod testing

Testing of arduino attached to the PLL on the 49mhz. the RB mod for 46Mhz didn't seem to lock , but 49 worked fine , RX and TX
49Mhz expansion via PLL

This is the first testing of an arduino I'm using to program a PLL on a realistic TRC-503 , but should work on anything with the same PLL. Not sure yet I'll be able to get the 46Mhz tuned and running , but may get removed later?

ready to fly :) this is an orange pi strapped to a uv5r , it is running an frn server, client and as a wifi hotspot to connect to..
I tried to connect to your server on pi-star but It doesnt seem to connect and nothing shows on your admin page
I've just rebooted the server, it should be back up. I doubt there is anyone else to talk to though
eine interessante Feedpoint konstrucktion. ich teste es für 402 MHZ.
Nice video
Hi, how to connect to your server? Tried many times and failed. Thanks Ollie
I'm not sure what you are doing wrong , or if it's me. I was asked about the idea a while ago and so I set it up, but I only just leave it running these days for testing purposes. an admin page is available at 001english-eu.no-ip.biz:8080
Is this server still active, is there any talkgroup layout?
Active is a question mark but yes it's online and no all talkgroups are joined
Opengd77 version ?
these would have been builds from early 2022. not sure which as I may have reflashed since
What tool/hardware & software are you using to test the chips?
It's a standard xgecu tl86ii plus with standard but newer xgecu software
Is this still up and running?
Yeah it should be it was only ever a test server. Pointing a browser to 001english-eu.no-ip.biz:8080 should show connected clients. Can't say how active it is
Hi, In Simplex, it's always TS2 (the OpenGD77 firmware don't support DCDM). So, TS filtering is only available in Duplex. Cheers.
What software is your server running and is it easyto set up?
Hblink and yes
Looks pretty neat
74HC (CMOS) have different threshold Values to TTL 74LS I believe ...so are not necessarily interchangeable.. The 74HCT is more equivalent to 74LS.. Thus you can use a 74HCT where a 74LS chip was !!
Yes, they have different threshold values. If you look at the data sheets too, specifically the Vcc voltage, you will notice the ls needs 5v, where as the hc doesn't. Actually the ls still operates at 3.3v as shown here. This is not a trigger level test, it's testing the Vcc voltage to see if the IC still operates. Why? It's because there are some ls ICS coming out of China are actually hcs. In some applications it won't matter of course but not all.... I watched a test using an oscilloscope and a VR to test the trigger voltage, but to me this seemed a much simpler test by checking the Vcc voltage which has the effect seen on the video.
Lots of people B*tch about ICs from China, but if it wasn't for China and eBay all these old Legacy ICs , would either be destroyed, put in Landfill or disposed of in some other manner ! This would mean what stocks , probably from US, that were available would be at Stupid Prices !! And you can always spot remarked/labelled IC (some people call them fakes) as these are Normally Old NMOS Z80s, 6502s...10pcs for $9.99 !!! Though these are still useful for fixing old retro machines !
Ignore the frequency errors on ch 12&16. This was using an older CPS with newer FW. The idea is stil correct.
I really couldn't see the writing on the IC for the light :)
for me didn't work....
Do you mean the encryption didn't work?
if you have one encrypted radio each end...!?
does encryption working over 446 network!?
Hello John. We have also pmr dmr. Would you link ? Tg. dmr.61350a.de/ contact me 13hn411@gmail.com 73 Volker
23:02 Are those owl hoots in the background?
hi, can i ask if the radio has been modded to open gd77?
Yes, I've used open77 for quite a while now.
@@FB-np7cg ive got a spare gd77 and thinking of flashing it. i know opengd77 is still on development (at least when i first heard of it) but is it all worth it or wait until further development? 73s.
@@torpe1 I've had two 77s for ages and personally I can't rave about open77 enough. It will always be in beta but even the early versions were great
@@FB-np7cg thanks, i will look into it perhaps decide pretty soon.
@@torpe1 it's just a firmware change which can be undone. Backup using the CPS before updating. You will also need to recreate your codeplug but for me it makes a massive difference.
I made one of these for 70CM and it was really good at TX but terrible at RX,I did check for DC short & there wasn't. Most of my HAM buddies are confused how I achieved this inballence of TX & RX gain. From 2E0RPT.
I wonder what plans you used Rob? I must admit it is strange. Maybe your front end is being overloaded?
@@FB-np7cg Im not 100% sure what site it was, Some time ago when i built it. But the plans look very much like those found here www.rason.org/Projects/collant/collant.htm
Ok just interested. I've seen this in several plans. Some are terminated with a resistor. Some have quarter wave end whips, some open ended. I'm not saying any are better than others, but I have tried most plans and I have my favourite.
I am curious about this. Having poor RX but good TX makes me initially believe it is a "decoupling" issue. Did you include the balun tube and the three ferrite chokes at the base of your antenna? Also, is the reception bad due to noise or are the signals "clear" but weak?
@@joboring8397 I'd put my money on the front end being overloaded. The op didn't state what transceiver he's using, but I'd guess it's a Chinese SDR based. The higher gain antenna coupled with its height may be the factors.
Hi do I have to be a ham to use this network? Thanks in advance.
No this is for general use / testing
built mine same plan out of rg213 works great
Look for a pair of mitre shears. I use them in double glazing. Uses a Stanley knife blade that can be replaced. Perfect for cutting coax.
at 11:20 I have mistakenly written the 3.5MM Jack information upside down , the pin thats used is the outer one, not the tip as shown
Have you still got the one i made you.73 Andy G6OHM.
Yes and still gets used
Hi John .Great video's.Might build one of these for 23cm. 73 Andy G6OHM.
the flag which is a bike safety flag (with the flag removed) is fibre glass.
at about 5:50 i say slot 1 , but it should've been slot 2 as thats what the hotspot was set up for :(
This is the hotspot setup video using pi-star on a pi 1. I'm using my opengd77 as my hotspot but it could be a cheap hat etc? I'm ok with anyone trying to connect to this server for DMR usage/testing. it doesn't have a parrot, so it may seem very quiet unless someone answers. I can only suggest that the hotspot id is a random number 1000xxx where xxx is any 3 digits? also the dmr id on the radio should be something random other than 1 , to stop confusion
