BT Moto ECU Flash Upgrade Part 2
This is Part 2 of this series about putting the BT-Moto Flash Upgrade on my 2023 Honda Goldwing DCT. I ride to Cruiseman's Garage for help with this procedure. Today we are successful in using the BT-Moto hand held device to read data from the ECU on my Goldwing and in uploading that data file to BT-Moto. I plan to post another video next week about installing the upgrade file. Again I want to thank Cruiseman for everything!!! @cruisemansgarage

Tom, I heard the file came back so all that's left now is loading it. I will be keen on hearing the improvements it has made !!
Yes Robert, BT-Moto sent me the update file Monday morning after I sent my data to them around noon on Saturday. I will be going back to Cruiseman's this Saturday to actually flash the ECU with this new file. Hopefully all will go well. I will let everyone know my thoughts about the results.
You should adjust the gains on your microphone in your helmet. Mic levels too high?

Hi Mark, thanks for watching! I received the tune file from BT-Moto yesterday, less than 48 hours after uploading my data to them on a Saturday. I am just waiting to go back to Cruiseman's Garage this next Saturday to do the final install. More to come.

Not sure why they can’t just provide a tune based on your bikes vin# in the package they send initially. All the US bikes should be mechanically the same, so the tune should be the same you would think…

what a process...cant believe its so complicated...no other vehicle is like this, normally its plug in the tuner, it will download your stock tune onto the device and then you select what tune you want to upgrade too... the upgraded tune is ALREADY on the device! Can't believe its the same process for Honda cars so why is the GW this way?
I am afraid that you are asking the wrong person about why it is this way. That is far above my pay grade. I agree that it is a bit more complicated than you might expect. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hello Tom, so was the download fix holding the ignition switch to off position rather than momentary? Sorry, I could not give you update my end as I’m still waiting for my package from Traxxion Dynamics. They were hoping to have a new shipment in yesterday. Hopefully, I will receive it sometime this week. All the Best, James.
@@jameshales6958 Hi James, the fix was that BT Moto sent out a new device. Holding the ignition switch in the off position is part of the next step which is uploading the new file to my ECU. Thanks for watching.

@@tom81773 Hello Tom, I received my BT-Moto Flasher+ unit this morning. I’m a Mac guy, so downloaded the software and drivers to my MS Surface with no issues. Downloaded my ECU data to the Flasher+ unit and now I’m waiting for BT-Moto to complete my account so I can upload my ECU data and questionnaire for their review I’ll keep you advised.

@@JeromeMarshall-vx6gj That is great to hear. Since I uploaded my data on a Saturday I am not expecting to hear back until next Tuesday or Wednesday. In any event I plan to wait until next Saturday when I will return to Cruiseman’s Garage to install the new ECU file.
I just received an installed BT-moto flash on my 2024 Goldwing DCT it was flawless and went for a mile ride and it is amazing performance upgrade. It brings to this bike.

I am hoping to make more progress on the next try. Of course this is a multi-step process: 1. Reading my ECU data. This is where we are currently stuck. 2. Transferring that file from the Flash unit to my computer. 3. Uploading the file to BT-Moto. 4. Downloading the new improved ECU file from BT-Moto. 5. Transferring that file to the Flash unit. 6. Uploading that file to my ECU. There is still plenty of room for glitches.

Hello Tom, thank you for your video. Sorry to see you could not download your current ECU map and I’ve placed some comments on Cruiseman and Roberts’s videos on what I believe the issue is. I learned about this flash and the company some time ago and have been doing research. I saw Max’s video yesterday and this is when I ordered my kit from Traxxion Dynamics. I should have it early next week and I will keep you advised on my download and ultimate upload progress. Hopefully BT-Moto tech support will provide an answer and you will have better luck next week. All the Best to you and your family.

Hi Mac, I am planning to go back to Cruiseman's Garage in one week next Saturday to try again. That will be my next day off. We do have some new information so I am hoping to be successful next time. Glad to give it a good home. Thank you again for selling it! The black and red HWK jacket is relatively new. It is a light weight summer mesh jacket. It has level 1 armor. I had been wearing a black and white Tourmaster Air Intake jacket. The Tourmaster has heavier back armor and it hotter on my back but does have good airflow in the arms and chest. It was great to see you at breakfast today! Ride safely!

fan of your channel,,got on a dct tour for the first time...a 2023 with 1300 miles a guy is selling..as it goes thru the gears i hear a sort of a small clank sound as it shifts...is that normal? thanks

Hi Larry, thank you for your kind comments. Again, I really do like what you did with your trailer and the way that the black matches your. bike. Here in north Texas we can ride year round except for a few days in the winter when we have snow or ice. Although it is not far, I ride my bike to work, so I ride it almost every day. I got it last October with 1700 miles and now have over 12000 miles on it. Ride safely, my friend.

I've been doing that route since 1974 when I rode a Honda 305 Dream. Every bike I've had since gets taken on it. I just did it last, 2 weeks ago on my new Goldwing DCT!

I have the exact same bike; I was looking into installing this product and after watching the video and seeing how easy it looked to be installed, I will be purchasing this Traxxion product. Thank you for the video.
I am glad that this video helped you. This is very easy to install. I would recommend that you also view Max's installation video at Traxxion Dynamics. Fortunately, I have not dropped the bike, but hopefully it will work as billed. I watched the videos of Max dropping his bike with this installed and with no damage. Ride safely!

Regarding the carplay, I use the Carlinkit. I was having a serious problem with it cutting out every time that I went over even a small bump in the road. I fiddled around with it and ended up replacing the USB-A to USB-C connecting cable and since then it has been rock solid.
Nice ride Tom. Bike sounds silky smooth. Is that a new modular helmet? Love the charm of our somewhat unchanged small towns in Texas. You have a knack of picking low traffic areas to ride. What day(s) and time of day do you prefer to get out to your touring?
It is the same helmet that I have had since I got this bike. It is a carbon fiber HJC. It look different in this video because I do not have the camera on my chin mount. I shot this video with only one camera mounted on the handlebar and then stopped and turned the camera around after the intro. I greatly prefer to get out of the city and into lower traffic areas. This video shows my favorite escape route. From Cleburne I can take route TX 4 to Granbury or continue on US 67 to Glenrose or even Stephenville. Right now my primary ties to ride are Saturdays or Sunday afternoon. In the summer heat, I prefer to ride on Saturday mornings.

Hi GROne, thanks for watching. You are right. Here in Texas it is going to be hot until October. But I prefer heat to cold myself. I would rather ride in 100 degrees than 40.
