I've always been curious to visit the Pilat Dune. Of all the times that my friends told me about this place, they only said wonders and highlighted its beauty and the difficulty of climbing the largest dune in Europe.

Penny Dreadful - A series of horrors...
Просмотров 68Год назад
Penny Dreadful gathers and adapts part of the fabulous “bestiary” produced by English literature from the Victorian era. It is a story much like the 19th century Gothic novels, in which human vulnerability is exploited and manipulated by monsters, demons, witches, vampires, mystics, werewolves and mere humans consumed by despair and revenge.

Born in Liège (Belgium) in 1879, Walter started his career, very young, in an acrobatic troupe called “Les Bourbonnel”. He invested four shillings in the purchase of a black frock coat, a huge vest, extremely wide pants and a pair of military boots, the ones he used throughout his artistic life, and ended up creating a new type of clown "Auguste".
Rory Kinnear reciting William Wordsworth

John Clare (Rory Kinnear) reciting William Wordsworth’s “Ode: Intimations of Immortality from Recollections of Early Childhood” poem in Penny Dreadful show's finale.
the WORDS , of my ILK, call to me. reminding me of who i am....who i WAS. it's apparent that "the light" has dimmed. that im HIM. monster, IN THE HUSK OF A MAN. I PRETEND. AGRIN, WITH joy I DO NOT FEEL, BECAUSE IT'S not REAL. A MONSTER... pretense as a man. sad because i know that i AM, what i am, the beauty, has FLED. the WORLD has swallowed me whole. it gulps.....it gulps, as it takes me in, as it erases ALL of me. in its depths i GROWL, I "FIGHT" , FOR E'EN THIS CAN'T QUELCH MY WRATH. woe to those, wicked eno , to deserve my RIGHTEOUS RETRIBUTION.

Why can’t I find a clip of this on YT?
I don`t think there is one on You Tube. If I remember correctly, it is at the very end of the three season show. The episode is " The blessed dark". Do yourself a favour, watch the whole thing, not just the last episode. Penny Dreadful is Brilliant! An acting Power House.
There were a few clips of this last scene on YT a few years ago. Gone now for some reason.
@@paulwhelan4676 That's the best advice ever!
I can verify that..I remember watching it many times...but it's not here anymore...@@lalabrown2480
What a brilliant actor! Wow his reading is so powerful, it really makes me cry. Bravo Rory! Magnificent ❤😊
I've found other (very good) readers of the same poem in YT but frankly speaking, Rory is quite above all of them.
Rory Kinnear is, I think, a hugely underrated actor. THE best Hamlet I have seen.
I just finished watching all 3 seasons and I heard this poem , ofc I had to find it on YT ! <3 The songs and poems in this series are breathtaking ! There was a time when meadow, grove, and stream, The earth, and every common sight, To me did seem Apparelled in celestial light, The glory and the freshness of a dream. It is not now as it hath been of yore; Turn wheresoe'er I may, By night or day. The things which I have seen I now can see no more. But there's a Tree, of many, one, A single field which I have looked upon, Both of them speak of something that is gone; The Pansy at my feet Doth the same tale repeat: Whither is fled the visionary gleam? Where is it now, the glory and the dream? Ode: Intimations of Immortality from Recollections of Early Childhood By William Wordsworth
Thank you.
I, have FORSAKEN, the common delights. LOST in the promise of tomorrow , forsaking TODAY. a MAN forsaken, FORGOTTEN e'en to himself.. i RAGE, at NO enemy , save MYSELF. adrift on pain, even i'd forgotten. ONCE a prince, ONCE a MAN. NOW a shell of yesterday.. i remember him, now and then, when my mind is assaulted by drink and drug. it's "there" i see my innocence, LONG abandoned to the ways of this world.
One of my favorite characters ❤ Rory has the perfect voice to read/narrate 😊
Indeed! He is just amazing.
I'm furious. I have seen Penny Dreadful again. I found it even better than the first time. So many stupid and mediocre tv show lasting for 5, 6, even 10 seasons, and Penny Dreadful was only three? And it was obvious the script has much more! They could have given us no less than 6 seasons. As the beautiful poem says "Where is it now, the glory and the dream?" (Sorry for my poor english. I am spanish)
