Nauti Dreams Catamaran
США
Добавлен 31 окт 2019
I have been dreaming of sailing the world for over most of my life. My wife has joined this dream and our 4 year old twin boys (now 7 yo!) have been on the water since before they could crawl and and they are ready to go too. We moved to Florida (love it here) to refit the Nauti Dreams. The current plans are the new engines, new electronics, ne generator, new battery's We got the money from selling the house and the other boat. My dreams, our dreams, will be fulfilled this year (this is now correct, after waiting over 2 years to get hauled out to finish everything). Maybe we on our way by December. That is current as of now, October 2022.
In case you are wondering, our boat is a Shuttleworth Advantage 43 with a custom layout. I am rebuilding the entire bridge deck to be a little more modern and fix all the damage the previous owners did. The old furniture was heavy and too big, to the point of extending into the companionways.

Curtis and Cleo (my 8yo twins) were my cameramen, and they did a pretty good job. This was after I did over 100 of these I think. The parts Are wedge and former, not former and cup. www.stalok.com/product-category/marine/sta-lok-self-fit-terminals/ Most of the parts came from www.sailingservices.com/Rigging/Sta-Lok-Wedges-Cones/ My tools were www.lowes.com/pd/CRAFTSMAN-4-Piece-Household-Tool-Se...

This is why we were hauled a second time, ridder damage in the marine from the old tracks that uses to be used to haul out shrimp boats when this was a 1 boat at a time yard many years ago.

Alternator Upgrade Yanmar Valeo 120 with Balmar smart ready
Просмотров 35810 месяцев назад
This is how I installed the Balmar 30-SR12-02 smart ready alternator upgrade with a MC-618 charge controller. I installed one on each engine, and upgraded all the battery cables too. I now can use all the amps from these alternators even at lower RPMs, and they charge the house batteries directly, with a correct LiFePo4 charge algorithms and my Victron 3000 trickle charges the starting batterie...

New anchor roller

Kingston Anchors Stainless Steel Anchor Bow Roller - KV-915-P from Defender Marine. I love it. It's a lot of work to install on a catamaran. and still requires some welding.
Time to call for help. Thank you Apryl.

Great video, very helpful, and thanks! Has this setup (Balmar Smart Ready) worked well for you? Thanks!
Well done. Do you have an episode on how you use the DC to DC to charge the start batteries? Thanks!
@@ygautier6866 that's easy, my victron multiplus has a 4 amp charger built in.
Just a suggestion... you might want to have them film from in front of you, so your hands are more easily seen on the video. However, it really is a well done and informative video. Thanks! Love you muchly.
ty for the video
Always great seeing your updates!!
Love to see new sailing channels and there journeys. Just subscribed
Welcome aboard!
Well done, looks great!!
Thank you!
Hi Robert, I just found your channel. And just in time. Your videos are excellent and very helpful. Thanks for taking the time to share your expertise. I have a gemini 2020 legacy catamaran with two Yanmar 2ym 15 diesels. I want to modify the dc electrics a bit to add a Lithium house battery. Retain the two factory installed AGM batteries. First step is to upgrade my existing alternators with balmar external regulator kit - as you did. I'm hoping you can answer some questions as this project progresses. Would you be willing to answer some questions for me? Should I send you an email instead of comments. (I tried to retrieve your email from the RUclips button for that - but it does not work. ) Could you send me your email ? First - I have one Alternator on each Yanmar 2my15 engine. I "think" they are Valeo 12v 125 AMP Is that the engine and alternator that you have ? What model number Regulator Kit did you get from Balmar ?? Thanks ! Curt 719.440-4358 CurtWPk@gmail.com
Great job walking through the installation, sepecially on the existing to new wiring arrangement.
After chatting about how they hauled you out it's nice to see how it was done with the crane.
Really good video.. best one about using the external regulator with the Valeo alt from Yanmar.. are you sure the blue wire from the original harness is ignition +?? If not mistaken, the Blue/Black wire is for the lamp, that if not mistaken, was connected to the L terminal of the alt..
Greetings from Seattle
How absolutely awesome!!
yes. It is awesome. If it wasnt for a broken arm, we would be on our way south.
I get no sound
Woo
You do it with magic, spit and harsh language.😅
I removed the stupidity from it and installed it.
Looking great sir!!
Thank you kindly.
Kind of what living on the water in Fl is about.
Holy crap!!
About 3 feet over normal high tide
Stay safe good sir!!
Yes, I know where the edge is, it's marked by pilings, until they are also under water
Looking great Robert!!
thanks
Quite a bit larger than your Prout! You'll be happy to know I've been putting in tons of work to the old girl, most recently getting custom aluminum plates made and installed to reinforce the back legs of the solar arch/dinghy davits. The fiberglass had begun to stress and even sink a bit, but she's extremely strong now. The old forward berth has new been converted to a pantry with a DC powered fridge/freezer, and the engine has had a full service. The hull was cleaned last week as well. I'm preparing her for a trip to Bellingham for an interior modernization project soon!
have a link for that?
for the wind generator? eclectic-energy.co.uk/products/d400-wind-generator/
Veronica and I just wanted to say hi, hope you, Apryl and the boys are doing well. Have summer, hope to run into you again soon
We are great. How are you?
We’re still hanging in there keeping the dream alive 🙂
that was music? next time try telling us what we are looking at and a bit about the boat instead
sorry for the late reply, my friend Rozz mixed that for me
Schlecht gefilmt.

Cheers from Seattle
