Central heating is working but no hot water: The 'actuator control' situated at lower left hand side (black plastic unit, with black thick wire and quick release connector ) Pull out the clip at its base: the actuator will pop off. Buy a replacement unit from "central heating spares" for £ 49.50. Pop back on; fit new retainer clip, and wiring socket. And ha presto! This information is for Potterton baxi 25, but it also applies to lots of other C/H units. (no need to switch off water , but doswitch off boiler before doing job) good luck!

I have this one and intermittently it makes a very violent vibration. British Gas have changed the fan to no avail.

I've always said that the biggest con with modern boilers is the cost of a new pcb board , just because a couple of components have failed on it that cost very little , that's why I will always give my customers the option of a reconditioned board that is a quarter the price of a new one and you still get a 12 month guarantee the same as a new one from the company I use... 👍

Yeah the pump housing. Undo those two screws. All well and good until you come across one where that bottom screw is completely chewed making it impossible to get it out 🤪 whole manifold change then

Besides the glow worm method of pouring water into the heat exchanger after removing (doesnt make senseI wondered whether you could introduce Fernox F3 to clean. Guys, I've decided to change/clean that paddle. Do I need to turn off the main water supply tap and also drain water from boiler/radiators first?

I've just changed the electrodes on this boiler. The new set seemed to have quite a gap between spark electrodes. Can this be cause of loud ignition? It only started happening after i changed the gasket and the electrodes

Thankyou so much for this. Such a simple job. A local company quoted £200 +vat to fit my supplied part. I brought a reconditioned one, off of the net, and fitted in less than an hour. The longest was clearing the worktop. This was on the water side, and not combustion side, so I felt confident for this repair.

Why does the fan have come out???

The two things that everyone on here are talking about which is not my problem. Its taken numerous engineers and years to get it sorted, its low gas pressure at peak time we can not get hot water due to low gas pressure, too many people using the gas!!

my baxi 105e stopped today, no water or heating and no error neons have lit up no flame either or ignition noise, the green On Neon is on. i have noticed that all neons will dimly flash red when i try and reset, any ideas

I have a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 30i that loses pressures after the heating as been on. I've pressed the schrader valve on the expansion vessel and water comes out. I haven't noticed the the pressure gauge going over 2 bar or leaking outside. Can i drain out the boiler by turning off the flow and return valves then pulling on the red lever of the PRV to drain off outside to replace the vessel ?
