Not sure it is a true story, but supposedly Jack Brabham was trying to pass a driver in front of him at a race for several laps, and he realized he didn't have enough speed at the end of the straight, so he tore both rear view mirrors from his car off, and this gave him enough speed to make the pass.

I remember Pironi for the steal of Imola and the subsequent disaster in Zolder where I followed the scuderia in the padocks. 1982 should have been Gille's title without the betrayal of Imola.

Four drivers have won a WDC without a Fastest Lap, and one of them - Emerson Fittipaldi - did it twice Niki Lauda won the 1984 title despite not starting on the front row all season, losing the qualifying battle 1-15 to Alain Prost and winning two less races Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri have all completed every racing lap in at least one season. Michael was the only one to finish on the podium in every race, Oscar is the only one of the quartet not to be WDC

I am sure most people have already seen it, but there is a video on RUclips interviewing Hill years after as to why he went to Arrows, he had the chance to join Ferrari but the contract clause meant he had to be number 2 to Micheal, in his own words after Adelaide 94’ he couldn’t be number 2 to him and if was equal status he would have joined them, as I say, most people probably know this but the interview you can see the pain in his face that he couldn’t challenge to retain or get the win at Monaco he desperately wanted, anyways, hope all had a nice Christmas and happy new year when it comes!
