What size is the container?
Not sure exactly what siz it is. You can mix it up abit and get any container as long as there is room in there.
I have 2 zebra finches that I am totally enjoying. But no matter what chop I make up they don’t seem to like it! They did seem to enjoy some fresh dill that I hung from the side of cage and I read all finches like sweet potatoe but do I just keep trying? I don’t want them only eating seeds. Thanks for any help you can provide.
You can give them corn. They should love it. See if you can finch nice fresh seed grass or just keep trying different greens. Also fruit.
wondering what the easiest way to message you is? I'm on the Sunny Coast.

Is that inch square mesh? Been thinking about setting up a Z shaped suspended in our garden made from inch square, just wasn’t sure it would hold them.
Solid grey hen mate
Thanks mate
Beautiful birds
Thank you. They certainly are quite striking!
Nice lot of birds mate. I reckon I know where they come from based on the colours.
Yeah they have been alot of nice one around Brisbane
@@brisbanebengalese lovely creamback there. JP has some very nice birds
did you get the steel shelves from Bunnings, then build the cages into them
Yeah that is what i did.
Hi Greg, do you have any birds available at the moment, chasing a Cordon Bleau Cockbird
Hi Darren i will have a look for you. I should have one .
Darren where are you located?

can you contact me via email. g_kawka@yahoo.com
Got it full mate! Nice to see some Zebs.
Yeah the Zebs hold a special place in my heart. They are full of life!
@@brisbanebengaleseAlways on the go aren’t they. Got 12 individual pairs paired up at the moment, hopefully a good spring breeding season.
@@ZebraFinches1 absolutely i hope you have a great season!
Nice birds mate. Love their sleek look
Yeah they are good looking birds
So jealous... They are hard to get here in the US!
Really?? I would have though they would be common. It's strange how every country is different in the world with what is available.
Promo_SM
what are they eating?
They are eating livefood. I get them white ants
Wat do there eat
They are eating live food here but they also eat a good quality finch see mix and seed grass. They also love grit.
hey greg, I bought a 1 kg bag of Calcium Grit from Australian Wildlife supplies, and basically it looks like gravel rather than the shell grit you got in the video. Are these good for zebra finches? Im concerned if they would be too hard and get stuck in them
Hey Mate, i haven't tried that one from Australian Wildlife supplies. I buy my grit from Capalaba Produce. It's always great quality. Australian Wildlife Supplies should have the right grit for your finches. Maybe talk to them first but i would think calcium grit should be ok too.
@@brisbanebengalese ah right so you never used a mineral gravel-like grit before? I'm just Double checking to make sure it's not going to harm the finches otherwise I'll probs just buy some shellgrit
@@WyvernLi i haven't tried the calcium mineral one before with my finches. But if you have concerns with it just stick with shellgrit.
Nice colours
Ingenious well done
Thanks man
Good luck , 👍 not to hard to breed hard is getting a pair male , female 🤣
Thanks for the tips. I got 2 pairs so hopefully they stimulate eachother
Parrot Finches Cutthroats Isabel Zebs Strawberry Cordons Ruddies? Look good mate. Nothing better than seeing birds freely moving around on the ground.
I agree. I love seeing them altogether
Also ruddies 👌
How do you go about treating the birds in your aviary from diseases that may or have spread? Would love to see a video sharing your experience with that…
Hey that's a great idea! I will have to make a video on my experience with that
Thats great, looking forward to it!
hey greg, do you have any social media platforms I can msg you on for advice?
Ask me here if you like 👍
@@brisbanebengalese so like when there's a bunch of zebra finches being raised and they are already flying. Is it normal that a few are going to die in the winter? I have the aviary tarped up with plastic to stop wind but one cold morning I just found 2 fledglings dead on the ground and then 1 struggling to walk and then eventually died after I tried to keep it warm inside the house. Have you ever experienced finding dead fledgings on the ground in winter?
@@WyvernLi Hey sorry to hear about that. Yes i have also had losses over the years and it can happen during winter when there is a cold spell. It happens allt when one of the babies is the smallest in the clutch an it gets left behind because it's too weak or hasn't had all the feather's develop. But they still jump out of the nest. Just try to do all you can. If there is a sick one you can try keeping it warm in a small cage and feed it with some formula.
Beautiful mixture of finches
Beautiful baby finch ❤❤❤
Thank you. I am working on more of these
Great idea!
Nice
Thank you
Nice one ! 👍👍👍
Thanks Alex. This one is gonna be a beauty!
Nice footage mate. Great to see the birds feeding.
Thanks mate. It's always a pleasure watching them
amazing setup you have there
Thank you so much
Do these birds bathe in water or do they dust bathe? I used to have a blue capped cordon bleu and I never knew.
These one i have witnessed bath in water bit some species do dust bath
Thank you!
Great video! Well looked after finches.
Thanks Tom 👍👍
😍😍😍😍😍😍👍
Hi Greg That’s a nice mix of finches you have there. Just letting you know that I have had great success with the cordons I obtained from you. All the best mate and thanks for your videos.
Hi Christian that is so amazing to hear. I am glad they are doing well. I am excited to see how we go with these ones 👍
Looks great
Thank you
Beautiful birds! Looking forward for the next videos! 👍👍👍
Thank you Alex. Nice channel you have there too i will have to watch your videos I was in Brasov 4 years ago. I will visit hopefully next year again.
@@brisbanebengalese Nice ! When you visit again maybe i will be your guide! 👍
@@Alex-S. That would be very kind of you and you could show me your birds 👍

Thank you 🙂
Greetings, that cage is very comfortable. One question, what size is the hole in the metal mesh? 1/4 or 3/8 of an inch
Thanks, Its very comfortable for me and the birds. It's about 1/4 of an inch.
I will have to have a look at more finch sales like this one
Where did you buy your front mesh grill? I am from NSW, I want to get some as well
I got them from Petcity.com.au but you might be able to find them online elsewhere. I think the company that makes them is elite pet products
Boss where did you buy your cage front grill
Very nice set up! Where did you buy the front cage mesh? I want to do it as well
Heya, I believe I bought finches off you before on Gumtree. Just a question about your aviary. What do you do when it's winter? Do you cover anything on the front to stop the cold air getting in, use heaters etc?
Oh ok thank you. Which ones did i sell you? This winter that past was ok. The wind doesn't seem to get into it where it's located so all the finches were fine. But in the past i have attached or made blinds before.
@@brisbanebengalese Ahh ok, yeah we been using clear see through plastic tarps on 3 faces + roof of the aviary and then pop up a heavy duty tarps on the door and viewing side at night time. I believe you sold me and my gf 10 pied society finches. I was the short bearded guy with long hair haha
@@WyvernLi I hope they are doing well and breeding 👍
@@brisbanebengalese yeah they are getting along with our brown ones and have a few nests full of babies in them right now, they didn't start breeding until spring. Also do you mind if I ask you for bird advice whenever you're free to chat some day?
@@WyvernLithat's great to hear. Send me a message anytime 👍
Oh I missed out would had got a pair of weavers
Yeah there were some nice ones there
