2001 December Christmas at Richard and Jeanette's house
I see that the PG&E building didn't have its Tower up yet when this was filmed. I remember watching the tower being installed when I was a little kid, I don't remember what year that was.
It's so nostalgic 😊 all though i wasn't born yet during this time. Born 1984. Migrated to the USA in 1987. Reside in Oroville, CA. Moved to fresno ca in 1993. I have lived all my life in fresno since 93. I still remember as a teenager in the late 90s , me and my friends would go to downtown fulton Mall to enjoy the outdoor and indoor shopping stores. Fullton died dramatically in the 2000s. I never would have thought i would ever move out of fresno seriously. Jan 2023, I finally packed up and left fresno to Sacramento. It was the hardest decision I've ever made. It's been a year and a half already, but i visit every damn weekend. No lies, either. I'm really thinking of moving back already!!😊 fresno will always be home.
No place like home
I wasn’t around that time, but I could imagine the liveliness. 96-24’ born and raised. Still here to this day.
A great view into what Fresno looked like in 1960s.
It's 2023 I wish it was still like this nothing but crazy homeless and beggers it's like a mini San Francisco
And now down town is all streets I never been back
most corrupt city in CA?
Thank you for sharing!!
I remember the Fulton mall when it was opened, our mom would shop and my brother and I would play on the Mall, we went back to the car when we got tired, sure can't do that in this day and age.
Fresno My home town and birth place. I love Fresno
Grew up on the farms to the SW of Fresno in the 60's and 70's. Haven't been back since 78. Have nice memories from back then
Sanger and Selma california Fowler
Those days are gone and not coming back sad but true
Fresno these days is just horrible with crimes
Whenever I go through downtown I try to picture it like this, beautiful buildings and houses full of life, sad what time does.
Time is not to blame for its destruction. Here something different happened...
The powers that be built this travesty and drove business out of the center as shown here and further to the north. 60% of the business did not survive the move. As of 2021 we are back to driving on the badly failed mall. The malls fountains had become bathing spots and toilets for the homeless. None of the business shown here made the move and slowly died. This video is a load of crap.
Thank you so much so much great information. I wish we were back to those days.
Wow... who would’ve known this was how it was back then. It’s complete shit now. Empty, soulless, and just sad.
My child hood 95. 2005
Fresno means "ash tree" in spanish translation. Fulton mall is now back to street traffic, during the 1990's it failed an business was losing funds. twitter.com/Wahtomas
It use to be so pretty but now it's lost its true beauty
Shouldn’t have never done that
Laughs in homelessness and meth
and bullets
this comment is underrated
Fresno! The Shithole capital of the world, complete with crooks thugs, tweekers, cheats, cowards and yes corruption!
Yet they had to open it up to traffic again. Lol
Fresno is a small city now
Why do you mean It's a Small City? It's the 5th Largest City in California.
How is it small we have 500 000 people in Fresno.
@@sacramentokingswillrise7525 It's only the 5th largest city because of the surrounding urban sprawl that's been going on for the past 40+ years or so. There's alot of development in those areas compared to downtown fresno itself, which is pretty much a ghost town

Wow... it was better before... so sad to see how it looks now. If the people before would see how it looks now they would be very disappointed
@GoldenState yeah and it still sucks
So funny you said that I was thinking the same thing as you
There was a homeless dude bathing in one of those square water fountains the other day... And at the round sitting areas, it smelled like piss. Don't sit there.. I still have memories of the early to late 90s of this place... Around the holidays too...It's a great concept to revitalize.. but the reality is that Parasites love to destroy nice places, and I'm not talking about the homeless....
WTF
It had not been good since the 50's
Born& raised Fresno CA..
I miss Missouri so much!
1968. When people respected themselves and the property. 2018. No self respect and no respect for others or thier property. Too many homeless people asking for money. If there was soft lights, they would be stole. Downtown Fresno lost its beauty. 😢
Everything was Fine until Bums, Crimes and Drugs ruined Downtown.
It’s gotten worse now
What have you done to make it better? Your bum and only like to complain
So sad to see the Fulton Mall as it is 2018. Everything in disrepair. Gone are the wonderful stores, clean sidewalks, and excitement. Now days are buildings falling down, and boarded up. The very few stores you find open are filled with merchandise you see in Mexico and flea markets. The once cheerful music has been replaced with Hispanic music. The side walks are now decayed with cracks in the cement. Outdoor vendors every where. Bums begging for money and drunks and druggies lying in the door ways of dilapidated buildings. A few families let their small children play in the few water fountains. Fresno politicians and builders have played a major role in the destruction of this once beautiful and thriving Mall. Most people are afraid to visit this area of Fresno since it has little police patrolling it. All of the decent stores and businesses headed North a long time ago. The Fresno Mall will never be revitalized as promised 40 plus years ago. Fresno's Mayor's and elite would never work, shop, or live in an area like this. This downtown area looks like a 3rd world country.
The Only Good Thing about Fulton Mall and Downtown Fresno is Chukchansi Park and the Selland Arena.
Unfortunately the homeless is the reason people stopped going to the Fulton Mall.
Also There's really nothing to do at Fulton Mall, The only thing to do is Go to Chukchansi Park or Selland Arena.
@@sacramentokingswillrise7525 anymore, they used to have a bunch of stores and even street performers and street vendors. It reminds me of Sunday afternoons with my family going out to eat and walking down the mall. Fun times.
My favorite is the creeper at 7:59
Also like how the cameraman zooms on the ladies butts. Good edit
Oh but the old heads say everyone respected each other in the “good ol’ days”🙄People got away with more stuff back than🤷🏽♂️
oh Fresno ....my childhood years , 84 to 95

nothing but bums now ..don't go there at night either lol
+alex vazquez youre a bum bitch
+Noob Hideout Drunks not really:)
@@noobhideoutdrunks6295 How?
the real problem is not that this idea is dated but that 1) no one wants to pay to maintain this lovely public space and 2) that everyone who counts (i.e. developers and their cronies in city hall) just love the money behind and generated by privatized urban sprawl
Well said Laird! I totally agree.
Sacramento is quite similar to this design...really.
Whats the name of you r"Fulton Mall" in Sac? Is it the K street Mall? How is it doing?
