To all my fans, sorry for the delay. It's been a long, interesting personal and musical journey this past year, but I assure you, I Remember You! Thanks for your patience, and thanks for watching! Have a great day!
What About Love - Heart - Guitar Cover
Просмотров 112Год назад
Another 80s power ballad, this time by the ever talented Wilson sisters. In playing the keyboard parts in the intro, I found that using harmonics got me more sustain and using volume swells for the opening chords eliminated the pick noise, giving it more of a strings feel. Thanks for watching. Have a great day!
Heartbreaker - Pat Benatar - Guitar Cover
Просмотров 178Год назад
Another rocker from Pat Benatar. Without a keyboard player (yet), my band (Simply Irresistible) has to do the heavier, guitar oriented stuff from her. Our first gig is August 19th at Lucky's 777 Bar and Grill in Holbrook, MA. We'll be doing lots of songs from this channel. Found it much more reliable to use a tap harmonic instead of a pinch harmonic at the beginning of the solo without giving u...

Another great Boston based band! We've almost made it to spring but just can't wait for the summer here in Boston. This song has that upbeat summer vibe. Thanks for watching! Have a great day!
Talk Dirty To Me - Poison - Guitar Cover
Просмотров 140Год назад
Look what the cat dragged in, it’s Poison! Black holes, quantum mechanics and string theory - talk nerdy to me. E flat tuning. I found that subtle delay on this particular solo made it too muddy, so I dropped it. Thanks for watching! Have a great day!
Blue Collar Man - Styx - Guitar Cover

Tommy Shaw has great energy in this classic rock song by Styx. They're such a awesome band live! Thanks for watching!
Nobody's Fool - Cinderella - Guitar Cover
Просмотров 125Год назад
It's so cold! Needed a power ballad to warm up. If the shoe fits, it must be Cinderella. Tuning is a quarter step down. Meant for two guitars, but picked my spots and switched tones as needed. Love the legato section at the beginning of the second section of the main solo: bend, tap and flutter all within one phrase, such emotion. Thanks for watching, have a great day!
Empire - Queensryche - Guitar Cover

Title track off of Empire. Really interesting right hand technique. Planning on adding some tracks off of Mindcrime at some point as well. Hope you enjoyed this version. Have a great day!
Any Way You Want It - Journey - Guitar Cover

When the band asks if we can do more Journey, Any Way You Want It seems like the right answer! Thanks to my subscribers! I plan on adding a lot more content in 2023, and hope to have a live outlet as well. Wishing everyone a great holiday season and a wonderful new year.
Photograph - Def Leppard - Guitar Cover

Been a long time since I've uploaded anything, but I've been busy learning 30 songs for rehearsal for my new 80s cover band, including this one. Hopefully, we'll get to play this live late 2022, early 2023. Feels like if I can récord it, I can play it live. Note that I'm tuned to Eb. Thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed it!
The Warrior - Scandal - Guitar Cover

Nothing scandalous about this classic rock hit. Strong vocals from Patty Smyth leading the way. Keep rocking, and have a great day.

Very Well Done and amazing guitar!
Killed it man!!
Thanks!
One of my favorites, and you absolutely crushed it!
Love this song! Thanks!
Man you got to that D chord very quickly after the solo - Great Stuff!
Thanks!
That's so far off just watch the video how Tom plays it he ain't nowhere near on the neck where this guy is
Its gotta be smoother than that, because you need to become the "Man I'll never be".
I hear you. That was from almost four years ago. My newer attempts are much smoother.
Heck yeah, good job on the solo!!!!
Thanks!
great cover, man! And that solo was perfect 👍
Thanks!
very nice cover man nice guitar too!!!!!!!!
u got this mate yessir
Thanks!
Great Song!!❤
Thanks Darren! Like getting some deeper cuts into the mix. Have a great weekend!
The hybrid picking is amazing in the intro and overall good tone man
Thanks!
👏 love it!!!
Thanks!
Yes!!!
Such a great song!
Nailed the solo .. bravo!
Thanks!
Hi bro can you give me what the pacth Setting you use for the solo ?? Like " Znr , Marshall amplifier, Tube Scream, delay? Or other.
Sorry for the delay in responding. Amp: Roland Jazz Chorus 120, great for 80s; Effects: Digitech RP 1000, preset 46 HairDay, added compressor, distortion and delay.
Fantastic song and cover.
Thanks!
Thats whats up
Awesome cover man!! I really enjoyed it!
Thank you so much! It's such a great song! I might do New Thing at some point.
@@stringtheoryboston8243 please do!!👍
Where did you find the music or tabs for this, it sounds great I just wanna learn how to play it
Hi Dillon! So my guitar teacher taught me a different process than tabs which has drastically improved my playing. I use a program called Transcribe! to slow down the music, throw on headphones and learn everything by ear. It helps with ear training, makes me think about music theory, ingrains the song in my memory and helps to create the muscle memory to play it at faster speeds. I've added to the process by first looking for live performances by the artist to get a sense of their positioning. On my channel, I purposely keep the camera tight on the fretboard slow you can slow my videos down to help with learning the song. Hope this helps. Keep rocking!
oh boy!
This was a fun one
Nice cover- love this tune and and both the guitar and bass tracks.
Thanks! Agreed, my favorite era of Yes.
You are awesome!! 🎸
Thanks Julie! Sounds way better when we do this song together!
Dig those arpeggios man! Nicely done!
Thanks! When the band lost the keyboard player, I picked up some of the keyboard lines to round out the sound. It's been fun playing with the arrangements. Have a great day!
!! Good one my friend !! have a rock n roll day :D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!
Sounds fantastic well played 💯
Thanks!
Amazing! What notes or chords are you playing from 0:08 to 0:18 please
Thanks! If you slow the video to 50% speed, you should be able to see the riff. Keeping in A major, fretting notes on the second string (E, D, E; B, C#,B; C#, D, E; B, C#, B) and throwing in the open first string E in between. Hope that helps.
Many thanks indeed 🙂
That was awesome!!! Queensryche will always be the top of my favorite rock bands.
Thanks! Me too. At some point, I plan on taking on all of Operation:Mindcrime, but right now have new material to work on for the band. Have a great holiday!
Sick man fucken sick..👍👍👍
Thanks!
Nice work sir, criminally underrated Enuff Z'Nuff are in my opinion. So how long did it take for you to flawlessly play the Derek Frigo lead part? (IMO it sounds better than Donnie Vie's rhythm guitar part)
Thanks! This one only took a couple days of disciplined practice. It also helped that I was super familiar with the song from hearing it so often. Others have taken a week or more, and some have become part of my daily exercise routine because I still can't quite get them where I want them to be before posting. It's more about the journey than the result for me, that is until the band wants to add something to rehearsal. Have a great day!
Great playing. And a nice bottle of red waiting for you later 😁
Thanks!
Plzzzz can you teach me how to play it? I keep finding a version that doesn’t sound right at all
I haven't written out the tab for it, but I don't like to use tab anyway because, as you point out, so much of the tab out there is wrong. My process is to run songs through Transcribe!, which allows you to slow the song down and maintain the pitch, using headphones at anywhere between 30-70% of the song's speed. After I get it right, any faster or more difficult parts I practice at 50% and gradually increase the speed. I set my videos up so that hopefully one can reduce the speed and get a good sense of neck positioning. Hope that helps. Keep rocking!
You are unbelievable at every song you play! The best!!
Thanks Julie! Sounds even better when you're singing it!
Great job!
Thanks!
The Rhythm on that one is not easy very nice work
Thanks! One of many reasons I'm a huge Trevor Rabin fan. Hope to add Lift Me Up and Shoot High Aim Low soon.
@@stringtheoryboston8243 yes it's an awesome band
Sounds excellent 🔥
Thanks! I like your channel name. For me, it's guitar restarts at 50.
@@stringtheoryboston8243 thanks. 😂 good luck 👍
Great job 👍
Thanks!
That was fantastic!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome!
Thanks!
No doubt your playing is really great. But, be more cautious about the tone next time bro. Well done!!!
Thanks! You raise a totally valid point. While one of the goals of this channel is to showcase ability for a "pre-audition", I also strive for a pleasant listening experience. In an apartment at low volume, I felt the need to sacrifice some tone for sufficient gain to allow palm muting and sustain. Using way less gain at band rehearsal at higher volume, and it does sound better. Hope to have a better recording setup later this year. Appreciate the feedback!
@@stringtheoryboston8243 Well, I understand.... try to mitigate those issues.... it will be beneficial for your playing output well. Keep Rockin'... Good luck!!
Improve the tone and less sustain
Awesome playing!! Just one error…….you failed to swing that guitar around your back.😉
LOL, I would end up with a guitar sticking out of my ceiling
Nice! I own the Marshall Head from Zach Smith that their albums were recorded with. Bought it in 1985 from him
Thanks! That's such a cool piece of equipment to have. Bet it still sounds awesome!
@@stringtheoryboston8243 LOL Yes it is passing it on to my 20 year old when he graduates from Audio Engineering school next year JCM 800 2004 in a Road Case
Nice, one of my favorite Queensryche songs
Thanks, mine too!
