Hi Mahendra, yes for all practical purposes ,the both are very similar. The AOA is required only for Indian flag ships required by the DG shipping. Where SEA can have additional fields as required by the ship owner/manager, the AOA format is fixed by the DG shipping. Hope the same clarifies

Yes Pumpy. Your ambition to become a Gas Engineer is very good and I fully support you. But unfortunately in our maritime field and in merchant shipping on board ships you should have sailed at least as a 3rd Marine Engineer before you can be eligible or selected for Gas Engineer training and certification. I am an Ex-Captain of Merchant Navy and this is what I feel, but I may be wrong.! Check with a Chief Marine Engineer or an Engine Superintendent of Gas Carrier ships. All the best for your future.
