I never got those in my hometown. Years ago I realised the thrift stores are sometimes full of them and I got lucky and collected a lot of this stuff. Actually a bit too much but I love those decorations. :)

Get well soon. I heard in your latest videos you caught something, too. I always recommend sage tea for those infections and very dark chocolate against coughing. I should have more dark chocolate (85% cocoa). I contains theobromine, which is very effective but you need to eat enough of it. Best is to slowly chew and let it melt in your mouth. That's what got me some sleep in many nights of coughing.

Thank you. Though, most of the mushrooms and the tiny bells and some other glass ornaments were gifts from my mom. And with the exception of the very big glass icicle, those were also gifts from my mom. The tree is secured on two spots this year, because I don't want those pretty glass ornaments to break.

I'm glad to see you back! I've missed seeing all your magical finds. I'm so sad that I can't find all the little forest creatures and the gorgeous trees (at a reasonable price) where I live. I guess I'll just have to live vicariously through your videos! Seriously though, I think you could put a witch's hat on the photo of the nice friend. I mean, what about Glenda, the good witch from The Wizard of Oz?!

Love all your finds, but especially the big tree. I've never seen one like it. Even the box that holds the shaved wood ornaments is special because of the cool black and white graphics. I would love to find a box like that!
My mom has a few of these trees but smaller. She got them in the 90s. Now they also sell them with little Christmas baubles attached. When we were in Seiffen the past few times, I saw them with red, golden and silver ornaments. Mom got some of them.

I still can't believe how cheap that thing was. Sadly I'm so behind with my thrift haul videos, it will take quite some time until you see the haul. It's a bridal couple sitting in the back and on ebay those go for a lot of money.

Always check thrift stores and yard sales. You'll never know. Tarnished Treasures found Wendt & Kühn angels this way and didn't even pay much for them and new they are so, so expensive. Btw, my little forest will stay out during the whole winter. :)

Thank you. This cold seems to stuck with me for at least a few more days. Really might be due to all the mask wearing that it takes so long but at least it's not Covid symptoms. I will have to record a video with stuff I forgot to show or combine it with the next thrift haul.

Phellie are you doing ok with all the flooding in there? I have thought about you many times and you have been in my prayers
No flooding where I live directly. My state only had flooding in other regions but the river at the parents' place was pretty full when I visited last weekend. Germany (or probably whole Europe) has never seen something like this before. A lot of people have experienced flooding but not like this. It was a matter of minutes. Usually the water level rises slowly but in this case it went as fast as a sinking ship. At least 170 people dead and still people missing. I should have done a summer decor video but it isn't much at all. Though, I have to check if there are haul videos left from last year. The thrift stores are finally back open and I was in one of them once.

My favorites are the two black cutout figures on red bases. I've not seen silhouette figures like these before. I hope your New Year has been happy so far. In the US it has been a stressful and sad time with the hateful riot on Capitol Hill. Living in the US, I have never before felt this kind of fear for my country's future.
I decided to keep both of them. They are kinda hard to find and it doesn't look like they are still made. Well, I hope it's getting better soon with the new president.

What a nice surprise when this video came up today! I loved the little snowman with the birds. Snowmen always make me smile. So glad your kitty came back home to you. That would have been a sadness you didn't need this year with the pandemic lockdown if he had not. Have a Merry Christmas!
Thank you. He has lost weight. I can tell his muscles decreased but his fur still feels good. He has a bit of a problem with a lot of cheaper cat food. His fur gets ugly, he pulls it out on his lower belly and his thighs and goes almost bald on his back. No signs of that. But his fur smelled like fabric softener for some reason and he was very hungry and thirsty. I'm pretty sure he was trapped somewhere. He feels so light now. from 6 kg to what? 4.5 kg? He was gone eight and a half days. He seems happy to be back home again.
I love all the mushrooms --- wish those were readily available in the US!
The mushroom picks are crafting material and you might find them there for fall decor. Mushroom ornaments might be available in packs with other ornaments for Christmas.
Amazon USA has some stuff, so I assume stores must have it too (at least when the selling season starts).

Amazing finds! I think the 45-minute wait in the cold was worth it for all the wonderful items and great prices. So sorry you can't be with your parents for Christmas, but you have a great attitude about it. My oldest son, his wife, and my 18-month-old grandson live in San Antonio (I live in Houston), so sadly, I won't be able to see them for Christmas as well. We, too, are planning a video chat for Christmas morning!
We get the presents on Christmas Eve after dinner. Most people in Germany traditionally do it that way. I recently learned it was Martin Luther who told people to do it that way. It had something to do with Saint Nikolaus (whatever spelling you guys use in your country). St. Nic's day is the 6th of December and kids still get their socks or booths or something else filled with Christmas candy and nuts etc. during the night from the 5th to the 6th. But Luther wanted the veneration of saints to stop. That's why the thing with the Christmas presents started. Also old pagan traditions and what not mixed into it and now we get our presents on Christmas Eve after dinner and in the morning we decorate the tree. :) I'm looking forward to see my family on the phone but I'm sure I will also cry a lot. My mom will cry for sure. I know her. Best wishes to you. <3
