The pandemic brought to the construction industry a deeper awareness and dialog on how best to reduce the risk of infection within the built environment. To create healthier buildings, ASHRAE, the CDC, and the EPA advocate a number of recommendations including increasing a building's outside air flow rates. Most proposed solutions, however, add to a building's operating costs at a time when our developing national imperative is moving toward carbon neutrality.
