In fact, there is a Chinese story behind Lay's mpop works. Like Lit is the story of an ancient Chinese king named Xiangyu, Behind KaiTian is the story of the Chinese mythological figure Pangu. One day, Pangu woke up suddenly. When he saw the darkness around him, he swung his big axe into the darkness before him. There was a loud noise and a dark mass drifted apart. What slowly rises becomes the sky; what slowly falls becomes the earth. After the separation of heaven and earth, Pangu was afraid that they would still meet. As the sky rose ten feet a day, Pangu grew taller and taller. For many years, heaven and earth gradually took shape, and Pangu was so tired that he fell down. After Pangu fell, his body changed greatly. His breath became the wind and clouds of the seasons; his voice became the rumble of thunder; his left eye became the sun. His right eye became the moon; his limbs became the east, west, south, and north poles of the earth; his skin became the vast earth; his blood, Into a torrent of rivers; his sweat, into the rain and dew that moisten all things. Understand these foreign friends may be able to more understand the left eye picture which often appear in the mv , And the picture his figure huddled in chaos.

The song is based on the creation myth of Pangu and his axe Kaitian, it makes the video and song make a lot of sense. I really enjoy it

Lay is Chinese and has more western friendly songs, like Honey, Step or his various colabs with artists like Jason Derulo and NCT 127 or Steve Aoki and Will.i.am. He also has a grp project call D.N.A (Dragons Never Afraid) that showcases other Chinese artists. He is (technically) still a member of the Kpop grp EXO altho they haven't done anything together in a minute. He can sing and rap and there aren't many who can touch his dancing. He is also a producer and director with his own production company. He's a fun rabbit hole to dive into.

Lay always makes the most creative and expensive MVs. The most popular MV is "LIT" where he spent $1.5M of his own money to produce. You should check it out. You'll be blown away
