Bill on Bikes
Добавлен 21 июн 2022
Bill is a former Massachusetts Harley-Davidson dealer of 30 years and a master technician. After selling the dealership in 2006, he was offered a position to work for Harley-Davidson at the desert testing facility in Mesa Arizona, but decided not to take the job, so he could concentrate on his nationally syndicated radio show, The Motorcycle Radio Network with co-host Todd Wilson. Bill also became technical editor for Ultimate Motorcycling Magazine and president of American Motorcycle Forensics. After living in Phoenix and having the numerous requests to work on motorcycles in his garage by customers who were just fed-up with the lack of workmanship at the dealer level, he opted to open The Motorcycle Garage at 10846 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix.

Feuling Reaper Cams are designed to produce more power and torque in the actual riding RPM range. They will also increase throttle response, acceleration and fuel mileage. Due to their wide lobe separations, they produce wide power bands. They have smoother camshaft lobe ramps and are easier on the valve-train components which will help eliminate excessive valve-train noise and wear.

Brilliant Bill!! Thanks for the videos...I have liked and subscribed. Keep'em coming. I am a fan.
I will never part with my 95 FXDL....the exact same bike in your video.
Why is there no ring on the back of the fueling oil pump? I thought that was the issue with early M8 oil pumps. Does fueling not put those on there pumps?
Why does fueling not offer tappet cuffs? I’ve never understood that.
I just recently found your channel and subscribed. Great content, valuable comments sir.
Awesome as always.....hope the knee is fully rehabbed!! WOW...DYNO!
Thanks my identical twin
Looking forward to your eBay input. Good job.
Thumbs up as usual great job.
Excellent ,as usual Bill!!! Love your videos and work ethic!!!
As usual, great content and tips for working on your bike
Richard from Az..great video Bill can wait to see how my roadking come out your doing ..
HOLY CRUUUUD !!! had local dealer do the 30k incl check valve lash and most likely they added/changed shims to bring up to spec. Dealer even told me they were bringing in a tech from another dealership who was more familiar with VRods. Went to do my oil change today and found 2, YES TWO valve tappet shims stuck to the drain plug magnet.......ESP coverage for another 3 years, but won't do any good if the motor eats itself due to incompetence and cannot source a replacement. Don't know if I should trust the dealership to do the teardown and inspection.......If they do and there are more than 2 shims missing, I may want to see about possibility of trailering my prized HD hotrod to your shop for that 160 hp upgrade you spoke about in your video, 🤔😫😱😱😱 if it is still available.......HD needs to bring back the Vee !!! (and I'm an OG !!)
There's a dealer in my area that put parts on my bike I didn't ask for and one part I specifically told them not to. After that, they lost all my business. A different dealer in the area scratched the heat shields on my exhaust system and replaced the whole thing. They still get my business.
I love my 1994 ElectraGlide Classic. She is my daily driver.
Enjoyed this episode a lot, I have an 88 EVO, runs great, love it. I also have a 2017 twin cam Fatboy. Best of both worlds.
All great bikes. Thanks for watching
Great job as always.
😍😍 Great bike!
Great looking bike and a very professional refresh. I loved my '91 FXSTC.
Thanks for watching
Awesome job!
Hi Bill, thanks for your videos, was there any problems with the older Thunderheart control units on the older Big Dogs? I have a 2002 Bulldog, just wondering if I should pick up a spare just in case lol thanks again
Great job as always. Lots of detailed info. A hockey plug that should be in every video lol.
Why the hell is there background music in this? So annoying. I cant understand why so many RUclipsrs do that. NO MUSIC!
Excellent video, very informative as always Bill!
Bill, what was the verdict on the breather hoses, did the customer want to go with the original breather hose setup? I noticed the Schwinn Stingray hanging from the ceiling. My son had the smallest version with training wheels that we recently gave to a friend who has a 3 year old son. Go Bruins (next season)!
I went with the two breather hoses in the air cleaner as would have come from S&S. Thanks for watching
Another good video.Bill do you know the fork oil capacity for a 2007 1130 Vrod as the manual doesn't state it
Hi buddy, the fork oil is measured from the top of the tube , compressed and without the spring installed. There isn’t a specific fluid once spec. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching
Thanks Bill, informative video
хочу у вас работать !!
Excellent explanation of dealer shortcomings and great professional technician’s savy !
The electric fantasy has absolutely nothing to do with emissions, it sll about control, plane and simple. The "Fantasy" is there aren't enough rare earths on the entire planet and they know that so what's really going on here???
Great video Bill. Myself an owner of an '08 NRS. Glad to hear your comments as a professional mechanic and the respect you give to VRODs.
Your stories about you and your Dad reminds me of my Dad and I...I sure miss Him...
I had the honor to be with this man on Cape Cod during much of his 'earlier days' and experienced his unrivaled work ethic, professionalism, and passion for bikes. I have always maintained that Bill is far more than a Master Technician or a Motorcycle Mechanic.....he is a true artist in every sense of the word. He is the Michelangelo of Motorcycles and if anyone in the World wants to create their own custom work of art.......this is the MAN!! Although this video gives you the history of his incredible skills as a "Master of the Motorcycle" it leaves out the fact that Bill is an incredible person who will help anyone if possible. Back in the day when we were 're-starting' the Motorcycle Unit for the Massachusetts State Police and had ancient Harley's and no budget Bill would use he personal time and expertise to bring our motorcycles back to life and keep us safely on the road......he never charged us for the labor....we just had to get the parts. His is a great guy, a true American Icon, and I am proud to call him my friend!
Wow Dan, I don’t know how to respond to such kind words. Thank you! I really loved working with such a fine organization the Massachusetts State Police. I still remember the day you showed up with an unmarked car with the rear practically dragging on the ground because of all the ammo in the trunk so we could go shooting. I think you were in what’s called the stop team. Anyway a great memory for me. Take care buddy.
Bill or should I say, "Billy"... I am so happy and proud to see all that you have accomplished in your life. You truly are a GREAT man. Keep up the fight my friend. From your best friend in kindergarten 😉😁
Thanks Bobby, we have been friends for many years and played a lot of street hockey. Hope all is well. Ride safe
Richard from Az love your videos I love your history..thanks can wait till you finish my bike..thx Bill
Thanks, will have that trike back on the road soon.
Great Video Bill! I live here down in Texas. Is there any way I could get a parts list for everything you did in this video so I can purchase the same parts you bought? Maybe email or whatever works best.
Hey Bill As usual , great content, enjoy your videos and watching a master at work. I plan on moving to PHX soon, and like i commented on your other videos, I know your SUPER busy, but I want you, and only you, to work on my '12 Fatboy, cam, etc,and I want you to also install a few accessories I bought for it, but I like to call and setup something with you, thanks again !
Sure, just give me a call at the shop. Thanks for watching and commenting. See you soon.
So how much does all this work and parts actually cost ?
Good job as always.
Thanks for watching
Great job.
Shitcan those button heads under the bike. Put regular allens and no one will know
What’s with the planishing hammer and English wheel? You bump metal?
What is the name of the German component on order?
Uhgg I love it, I wish my slim had a springer front end . It's bad ass. Great Job.
Where do you even find v rod parts. I can't find rings to save my life.
Beautiful machine sir, regards Mike, United Kingdom 🇬🇧, softail deluxe owner
after 3rd guitar riff i switched off
My favorite way of getting that 90 off the cv’s is taking plastic 90 off, then tapping the remaining brass with 1/4-20 tap , then put a bolt through a socket with a washer……acts just like a puller
I haven’t tried to remove the fitting in that manner. I will give it a try, thanks for the tip
Outstanding Bill, as usual. I have a '12 Fatboy Lo that I will be bringing to you to do some work on, we spoke on the phone about 2 months ago, i will be moving to PHX area later this year, Thank you and I will call you soon
Thanks, look forward to seeing you soon
Great job bill. Pastor hart from Indiana! Thanks for the tips too
I considered this one and the zippers 468.. I decided to go with the 468 in my 114 and with stock intake and slip ons I got 107hp and 128tq... more than enough power to break the law and kill myself.
