The weather is looking ugly down your way. When the temperature dips here in WI, my horses start consuming water like it could be their last drink. King looked like it was a twig he was putting. Very mellow horse. Stay safe and stay warm.

Cool video but not a lot of explanation on how to get the horse to not snatch the load. You will improve with time.😊

You can get trailer gears put into the old mowers. They have higher torque for slower pace of horse

I love how you can tell your horses to sidestep and they do it. I've watched quite a few logging videos and you are the first one I've heard use that command. And the horses are great at doing it. I can see it is very handy. I'm a pretty new subscriber, but I'll be watching. Thank you

tough pull
About how many logs can you cut on average with one blade and do you sharpen your own blades thanks for the video
@@lawrencenachtrab735 we do sharpen and set our own blades it really just depends on what we are sawing but usually we get 300-400 board feet before sharpening
You know I use cooks blades I didn't like them from Joe for what I saw I do mostly sinkers that may have been log in the late 1800s old growth yellow pine and cypress and also a little black walnut it is hard woods yes even the yellow pine is a hard wood when it has been on the bottom of a river for over 100 years it gets hard all sinkers are usually hard from the water not letting them to dry out so fast and not much bug problems with them either but I think I have told you that cooks is one of the best mills out there they have them woody mixes beaten up and down I had a lt70 and a lt40 they were not very good for what I do and I worked on them more than I sawed but UT has a bunch of salesmen that will tell you how great they are and they have one thing in common and that is they just started sawing wood and where something else for a living for cop's to rocket scientists 😂😂😂😂😂 God Bless Y'all and have a blessed Christmas
@@geneporter4849 thank you for watching sounds like you get to saw some unique stuff
@ just a little I have 100 acres with a few cypress ponds on it and a pond where they use to put logs while they would be till they had time to saw them the people who owned this place had a lot of land and they had a old frick I would have loved to have got it and restored it but they sold it for scrap metal years before I bought the land I have but it is a old growth track of land in the middle of paper wood trees not many places like this left in the state of Alabama and I’m just a few miles from north west Florida where I have some land that is the same way most of the logs I have pulled from the swamp where cut by axes and two man saws it is history and I have a big thing I like the older things I don’t think I will ever sale this place God Bless Y’all and have a blessed Christmas

I used a tie rod hay wagon behind a forecart like that for years. I have now switched to the style that Jeff and Zach use. It has some better advantages especially in rough ground. But nice work my friend.
