You're goated
How would i know that the DF is 9, please answer my comment, tomorrow is my exam
For this test the degrees of freedom is the sample size minus one. So for this example, the sample size was 10 and the degrees of freedom is 9.
@@twosigma1371 thank you so much, now i'm fully done with my preparation. Thanks a lot for your reply, i'm from Bangladesh, take love.
This was clutch! Thank you!!!!
Hi sorry I don't really get how do you obtain the degrees of freedom
For this test the degrees of freedom is n-1, the sample size minus one.
oh thanks!!
Carrie this is exactly what I needed! Thank you so much! You just saved my statistics grade!!!!

Awesome video for beginners
FINALLY, now i can actually do these stupid problems on my math exams. You saved me from a lot of annoyance. Thank you!
Thanks 😊

Welldone and well illistrated, Thank you...

Thank you!
does the sample variance doesn't need to be squared?
No, you only square if the value the question gives you is the standard deviation. If the question gives you the sample variance, you don't need to square it!
Hi, wheres the critical value ?

Thank you for the help. Also, your voice sounds similar to Jenna Fisher's and it's cool!
Thank you so much
would that be -1.735 or 1.735? Since its on the left side of the bell curve. Eitherway the test statistics is still at the non rejection region but still, i need to know
This applies for distributions that are symmetric on both sides like the normal distribution or the t distribution. Chi squared is not.
I missed when we went over how to get over this in my statistics class, so glad I came across this video, I wouldn't have finished my homework without it!!
but if sigma is unknown why are you using z-test? i thought you needed to use the t-test.
At the time the video was made, the criteria for the text I was using (Larsen/Farber maybe 3rd or 4th edition, pretty old) was if n >= 30, the z-test was used. That isn't the criteria that is used now.
@@elledgeca oh, thank you for clarifying!
Hi, thank you for your videos. We need videos of how to do it in statcrunch with data. I have three samples and I don't know how to do it in statcrunch, and I can't find any videos that show the F value with data in statcrunch.
OMG this is so perfectly explained!
Appreciate the help
Thank you!
Thank u!!!!
9 years later, still a godsend even though the website doesn't look like this anymore. My professor does everything he can think of to avoid statcrunch questions.
What book are u using together with the chapter
Thank you, easy to follow!
That helped a lot. Thanks!
Why would you double it at the end ?????
I love youtube! thanks for this :D
Very helpful thank you. I kept forgetting to square the hypothesis test number.
Professor Elledge, you are the best -Dude from 2021
You just simplified an hour lecture that totally confused me.
Thank you!
We got the 0.995 to the right as 4.075 however it is not defining the critical region. I am still confused.
use the dropdown bar at the top right to quickly select greek and coptic.
Helpful
Thanks you 100%
Thank you

Yay!! I'm glad I could help
