Where are the Confederate soldiers? After all, they did win the battle, by capturing 150 union forces and did millions of dollars in damage in destroying their supplies. When I went to this event 2024 I was disappointed that they called this a civil war event and only told one side of the story, the losing side. Even the museum is one sided.

This explains a lot for me. I just moved here a couple years ago and always wondered why they dye the water..

The new lodge is nice, but the restaurant there is a hot MESS. We waited almost an hour to get into the restaurant.....then another hour and a half for a piece of chicken with cold, unseasoned mashed potatoes. We are never going again. Go to the Snack Bar near the campgrounds and get a pizza or a burger. You'll be glad you did.

Great video but I do not believe the woodland indians built the mounds nor had the knowledge and specific understanding of alignment, summer solstice etc. The suni indians and other tribe say they came from south America around Belize? that the mounds were here prior to them and they refer to the builders as the mound builders/those that mediate with the gods. Not my words, there's. Maybe look into east tn pyramid, april of 1943 was an article on it. I took the "below the wall" perimeter trail today and thoroughly enjoyed it ! 🙃 I think I went backwards, starting to the right - where the mill ruins are. The "above the wall" perimeter trail appears to be the way to go for those with mobility issues.✅ Highly recommend ! 😮

Do you know what Tennesseans really need? We need our teachers, parents, and government officials to be educating their students and their law enforcement officers, and other government officials about accountability when it comes to respecting our rights under the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Among other things, they need to know that the First Amendment gives us ALL the right to the freedom of the press. This means, EVERYONE can legally videotape anywhere our eyes can see while in public. To all the folks that freak out about being videotaped while being out in public, you must remember that you are being watched 24/7 the moment you leave the privacy of your home. Cameras are everywhere, and they are recording you. People have no reasonable expectation of privacy in public places. They are capturing your actions, your possessions, and listening to any conversations that can be heard. In this great land of ours, we ALL have a right to exercise our freedom of the press and to freely take pictures or videotape anything we see on public property (including recording all interactions with the police or other government employees while they are exercising their official duties in public.) We have the First Amendment right to record our interactions with our local government and it cannot be criminalized. Transparency is crucial in keeping our freedom and democracy in this country! If any government employee has an issue with you recording them, then they are up to no good and are usually guilty of something. Brave men and women have fought for your freedom and have given the ultimate sacrifice to protect your freedoms in this country. So if we keep allowing the government to take away those rights, we will no longer have them. This is America! If you don't care about your civil liberties being violated then go move to North Korea or China because here in the United States of America, we have the Bill of Rights that guarantees our freedoms and civil liberties. We just did a video a while back on Old Stone Fort and talked about the Duck River in it! Such a great program and really can make an impact on these kids!

I love the Duck River. The Big Duck River is in our back yard. We live just up stream of Old Stone Fort. I find it interesting that the Duck River is the longest river that is completely located entirely within the state of Tennessee. ~Scotty
