I expressed to Laura good luck from you guys, now we’re 4-4:30am to leave here 5:15 to get to venue 6-6:15 to get close parking for me to help photos and so I don’t tire as much. It’s big park 5 zones, you can easily run 5k on the park road 1 loop! They used to do 1/2 iron man there. The “Hamlin Beach Triathlon” yrs ago , we did it few times before lil ones >32 yrs ago. Dating myself, old….

Thanks Robert very much, I appreciate it. I wanted to sound check the import Korean PRS SE. The pups seem to sound pretty well to me and I used a dampener at the nut to eliminate buzz, and for trying slide out on it tomorrow.

@mightyhammerhead Robert: we’ll try some tomorrow, and work on some blues walk. it has low action so I’m using the nut damper to clean the sound, and I’ve got to get more proficient with technique. Thanks again

Thanks Robert, I appreciate it. I’m getting my feet wet again slowly, going into the pool metaphorically not physically. Try to find the timing, tone, some notes and lil rhythm. It’s fun though after not actively playing there’s a new fascination holding the instrument. Similar to when work is so busy you can’t pick up and play during the week, get a day off and it’s like you just brought the guitar home from the store?

Thanks Robert so much for the listen, trying for the feel after being away. Nice to try play again. Lil challenges still as I have couple of apparatus connected at home until my 2 Dr gives us the ”all clear” to disconnect. Holding the guitar I have to be thoughtful about it?

Thanks Robert so much, lil slow starts here trying to get some things together. Thanks to you guys the OG Savages and David Wallimann Circle, Guitar Playback for getting me thru another couple surgeries and in Gods healing now. We’re very grateful to God. I’ll try to work up some music, we’ve got number of weeks mending and may not build many guitars but will try to do some playing with you guys. Your last project idea was fabulous, we enjoyed it so much. You on guitar bass and keys maybe vocals? , Wouter great player on guitar bass vocals slide guitar, Jeb on leads, I tried some rhythm slide. It was great to hear it with Wouter’s great sound engineering. Thanks again, all the best. Glad Hawaii was great for you all.

Dear D: Thanks for your past interest. I was in for 2 maj surgeries last week and just got back home. (6 days out) I’m on the mend now, but I will try to work or sketch up the record for this one and post up a pic or progression line with tab and tips. It be a nice project for me too. Thanks Robert very much, I appreciate the listen. A short intro in progress for me, from one of the daily “Homeskoolin” episodes by Tom Bukovac, On YT, one of the best Nashville Session players. He Give us so much to work on with learning and seeing the inside of what those musicians do in their work. Very highly respected person and gifted. Approaches the fretbd somewhat like a piano with infinite chord inversions and partials. He started during Covid offering free daily episodes.

Thank you Robert, “Jack Jack” and I appreciate your listen and feedback. We had to get him (our daughter’s happy Irish-Doodle pup) into the video for the OG Savages “Playing Outside”. He loves listening to the music while playing fetch the tennis ball.

Thanks Robert, I appreciate the listen. It plays easily, and was a gift from my friend and guitar player Neil. I enjoyed experimenting with/mods a la copying the Great Ry Cooder and his Techs creation, the Cooder Caster. (Pickups-Gold Foil / Valco Supro) What I had available- the mods of the 2 Kinmans (AUS) and 1 Supro (USA vintage) Roadhouse project, it give me some nice options. Examples: Hit it hard , add slide, and dig in to the strings, for the howl and growl. Back off and add a Kinman for soft slow blues and slide with some mids. Thanks again,

Thank you Robert, used a couple, 2 in standard tuning, some small note changes then 2 in open D. See if there’s some rhythm that can be used.

Thanks Robert, I know it’s the “Supro Roadhouse” pickup adding the pounce. You can feel the low frequency growl when you dig in. I believe these Supros were US made. I only bought 3 (new/old stk) on the used market. It’s Modeled after The Ry Cooder Caster’s “Valco Supro” (super rare >$300 each used) lapsteel pickups (lots of strat body mod needed) Ry and his builder tech, mod’ and put in the bridge position of his Strat the CC (Ry and his Techs invention) Genius idea. I’ve been using P-90s, Gold Foils, (Thanks Jeb) and Supro Roadhouses in the builds. The Supro Strat has Kinmans in N-M for that smooth SC noise reduction (patents Chris Kinman in AU)

Thanks Robert:,Opinion - Try to balance the 2 Kinmans with the 1 Supro, then you have lots of variables to play any style. Ie. Not lapsteel growl bridge sound 100% of the time. Ry has other pups on board his CC too. Ry and son Joachim Cooder’s music is fantastic and do so many great ballads, like Uncle Dave Macon music. Early 1900’s I believe?

As Robert layered in the drum track initially, then try to add a little bit of rhythm, and slight hint of melody. JJ scores it so well. Had a subtitle on it, “turn your lights back on”. Thanks Robert, trying different versions of the intro to give a unique OG voice, but wanting it true to JJ theme. He is such a great talent to try and emulate, even just a slight amount. I only dream of capturing a small % of his pieces, I just have a goal to work towards.

Robert: Looking forward to it very much, please hook up that “Tak” and launch it, some great “Open C” Tuning. That’s a beautiful instrument, it’s got so much soul. It looks like you are tuned into it, it’s appears very effortless when you play it. I know the OG guys remember those tunes.

Thanks Robert. I appreciate the listen and feedback. I’m working with the ceramic slide, and wish to improve muting and get a vocal quality with it. I’ve been listening to the 1st collaboration “Swamp Thing” recording, very nice job putting it together. I will continue working on the rhythm to try to improve it make it match your drum track, and make it cleaner. Also if you wish I will send another layer track of the (just built) “Supro Strat” tuned to open D? See how it matches up? Just a thought, in case you think it could work. Thanks again and great job on the multi-track work.

I would love to chat about getting the different sections done one at a time, I have some ideas about how to help keep the drums lined up and I want to add keyboards, and I know Wally can throw down some bass, and I'm looking for creative stylized lead work from Jeb and everybody! Thanks Robert, I appreciate it. I noted that the slide playing over that Supro Roadhouse bridge pickup has a very wide frequency range. To me it really sings. You can dig in hard for the growl. The Kinmans are direct and noiseless and it seems to balance so there isn’t too much noise and rattle.
