Hgv is more fun. Peopel are so undisciplined now. I had enough of rhem in A&E, costing the nation. Obesity cists NHS 6 billion a year. And we are not allowed to tell them " eat less, moce more". I find it funny , how 25 year olds wirh 25 stones now use a bus for one stop instead of using legs and brain. 😅 society is killing itself with lack of basics , but everyone has a screen in front of their nose. 😅

Before you become a bus driver don't become a bus driver. You will work too many hours giving your life to a bus company and will be treated like shite by the public and company you work for. Think before you do this. It's a depressing lifestyle and the longer you do it there is less chance of other opportunities arising.

I passed my all classes' PSV test in the '60s. I passed it in a 1955 AEC double-decker bus with a crash gearbox. The test standards were high in those days. Bus drivers today have luxury vehicles and automatic gearboxes. They would find it hard if they had to drive the buses I did. I loved being a bus driver, that was when we had a conductor on the bus, and as soon as one-man operation came in I left the job and started driving private coaches.

Filmed sometime ago, that's Slough bus station which has been closed since Oct 2022 after a fire.

My advice? Don’t! Awful job, people are awful, roads are awful, don’t look at it through rise tinted glasses! I hated every second of being a bus driver..

I used to love going on the bus as a child. My nan used to get us day tickets and we spent an entire day bus hopping. Today it was just me and the driver on a bus and he told me how he got in to bus driving, later when we got to my stop it was still just me and him so I gave him a voucher for McDonald’s, £2.99 selected burger and fries. He beeped and waved at me as he drove off. It was nice.

Driving was excellent, everything you would want from a professional bus driver. Polite, courteous and patient. The bus sounded quite modern and well-built, if i were to hazard a guess i would say it was a Volvo 2012 or newer and fully diesel engine not a hybrid and certainly not an EV.

I watch wanderizm a lot, but it is interesting to see bus travel from the drivers perspective and the 360 camera is a great idea. Its not all card tapping then, I was a bus driver 40 years ago when it was cash and a paper ticket. 👍
