Thank you for the tips. I am 69 yo and I have soft hair, so attempting locs is a difficult startup for me. But I’m determined to have the salt n pepper locs I envisioned for myself. The holding gel used initially resulted in greasy flat starter locs which I hated. Is there anything more natural that can be used?

I think once the locs are mature it is typical to only retwist 3\4 months. The 4-8 months retwist "rule" applies to starter locs.

Which one gives you the most length at the beginning of the journey

A lot of my ends are loose I am only three months into the sisterlock phase will all of these open locks eventually close. I am considering cutting them off because they look like an Afro.

I’m getting my third retwist next week. I’ve been going every 4 weeks. I’ve had budding since week 2-3 of starting my locs. I put nothing in my hair except water and oil.

If you recorded this video in the beginning of spring, the dust particles are most likely just pollen... That's probably why you said you weren't feeling your best because it was probably allergies from the pollen.

Hey this was a great video sis! Im five months in and I’ve already learned so much. I’ve finally reached my budding phase and im SOOO happy! Im finally seeing the growth and budding going on. Two months ago I started using water and oil mixed in a spray bottle to speed up the process. I’ve been spraying my hair every morning since then and it definitely has been helping my hair mature faster and stay healthier. I cant wait to reach my year mark at the end of this year. I’ll DEFINITELY make a video about it because it’s been a long time coming already so I know I’ll have more stories in the near future lol. But I subbed to your channel sis. Keep up the good work and keep these loc videos coming im here to watch and learn. Peace sis ☮️✌️❤

Okay - (Protect Locs) wrap them up (Moisturize) spray bottle , extra virgin olive oil from cooking aisle (top brand), aloe vera juice (Retwist) Week 3-4 - w/wash or’ clean scalp with witch hazel but only that one time w/retwist. Bet !

I started my journey a week ago and the lady that did them told me to not wash my hair or get it wet at all for three months which sounded so crazy to me. She said to use sea breeze on my scalp if it got itchy. I later noticed she coiled my hair with the jam gel so I was already doomed from the start as that product makes my scalp itch 😭😭 I’m glad I came across this video. I’m going to hold out for a little longer before I wash my scalp. Great video! :)
