Thank you for the comment! So the way I look at it is…. HGV Driving is a long term lifestyle and career. I see where your coming from as technically you earn a pretty good wage. Wages can differ between different counties and areas, so the first consideration is looking at where you live. My average working day is about 10hours (7-5), but I always get a break, I work for a family run company where they take really good care of me and I have on average 2-5 deliveries per day. So the way I look at it personally is that HGV driving would be a less stressful and more enjoyable job for either the same, if not more wages. Hope this helps? Thanks again for the comment 😆

@@JamesEatonYT very! Yeah the multiple stops really kills especially with multiple addresses, weather and parking. I love the driving though so the idea of hauling large loads, only doing a handful of drops and spending most of my time behind the wheel is no doubt in mind a better choice especially if it pays same/better. What worries me is driving such a large vehicle and changing my perception to accommodate driving down narrow roads, doing tight turns and reversing. Ofc I had the same feelings when I started driving a van but ended up laughing saying it's easier than my car though I have a feeling that a hgv is a different story.

Also I have a very anti social life with no family commitments so the life of a trucker might fit me. How does one get started? P.S I actually work in the north west too.

@@bobleeroy740 I definitely agree, the thought of driving a heavy good vehicle definitely frightened me at first…. But it’s the same with everything…. Once you do it a little while then it gets easier. I find the job exciting and great every single day. I’ve found a job that I love and enjoy, but driving a HGV is obviously much more serious than driving a van. So things like making sure THOROUGH daily checks are completely properly, things like awareness of what’s around you whilst on the road is crucial. But in terms of having no commitment etc…. I think you would love the switch to driving a HGV. P.S: There are ways of getting your HGV like paying for the training etc yourself (not sure how much it costs nowadays) , also some companies will offer apprenticeships etc which is the route I took so didn’t have to pay a penny 😊

@@JamesEatonYT I started off with simple food deliveries then moved on to van deliveries. The logical next step is lorry and hopefully ending with long hauling. I'd love to travel across country and maybe across the channel.
