I have had many Work stations over the years and also play guitar. To play a guitar on a keyboard sounds good but to me it’s kind of a half baked idea. Sorry but I believe it to be true. Although I was to a professional concert years ago and a lot of music was played on a keyboard. I was blown away. If you didn’t know this your ears would have tricked you to thinking it was a full piece orchestra.

It's fascinating to see you work, David. The Logic software, plus your use of the amazing instrument plug-ins (if that's what they're called) come together to make a really powerful tool, in the hands of an experienced user. The learning curve looks to be MASSIVE, but a beginner at anything has to begin somewhere, right? Perhaps it would be appropriate for someone new like me to begin with something simple, using the plug-ins that arrive included with the software? A bit like learning the Genos 2, I guess. Get familiar with the product as it comes, before delving into the plethora of 3rd party add-ons? Thank you for this, another fine upload from you. Even though I know nothing much about the insides of Logic, these tutorials of yours make compelling viewing from my point of view and I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to see how you develop this finally, and then combine the wonderful orchestration with your Genos 2. This is exactly how I want to use my Genos 2 with logic. Just as a giant linear recording system. This was straightforward, concise, very good, and told me only what I needed to know to get going. It is just what I needed, thanks! I'm just not 100% sure how to get the track to be the audio of my Genos, and not some other digital instrument from logic, but I think I can figure that out on my own.

It's a revelation when we hear you play a woodwind, brass, string (or any other) part on your fantastic Genos 2, David, because you have the ear, the training and the expertise to rise to the challenge of playing the virtual instrument (say French Horn) as if it was a French Horn being played by a horn player, and not as if it was a keyboard player "imitating" a French Horn. It amazes me how you switch from one playing style to a completely different one, to reflect the approach needed to make each instrument realistic. As you request suggestions, here goes! What I would love (and I will happily form an orderly queue here!) is to hear your interpertation, please, of a medley of my dear late Dad's two most favourite hymns/traditional tunes. The first is Londonderry Air (Danny Boy), giving the opportunity (if you so wish) for you to explore the wonderfully expressive Gaelic/Celtic instrumental sounds. And the second is The Old Rugged Cross. Being a Yorkshireman, I am very familiar with Championship-winning company- and town-based brass bands playing this tune in a very stirring and emotional fashion. If it makes the hairs stand up on my neck and arms I'm more than happy. If it stirs my very soul I'm delighted! I hope you don't think I'm trying to push back your existing workload, which you have told us is quite a large catalogue that you are preparing, ready for your RUclips followers to enjoy. No. I'm just responding to your request for ideas to be posted by your devoted fans! I hope you find the suggestion useful and look forward with great interest to your planned uploads. Bring it on David! I could sit and listen to you make medleys of the entire Les Misérables soundtrack. I saw the stage show several years ago at a matinee performance in London's West End at the Queen's Theatre, and in several parts it reduced me to tears, the performance was soooo powerful. On the strength of that I bought the BluRay DVD and have played it often ever since. I love to fill the room with the atmosphere of the film so I crank up the volume. It's like being back in the theatre again! It never fails to thrill me and set the hairs on my arms and neck on end! Could I please humbly request that you consider my idea for yet another one of your dramatic, emotional, spine-tingling and evocative medleys? I can hear in my head, a combination of the following: 1) the part of Beethoven 7 that they used in the film The King's Speech, when the wonderful Colin Firth addressed the nation as King George VI; and 2) Con te partirò. The lyrics written by Lucio Quarantotto and music by Francesco Sartori, sung by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman, which represents one of the greatest international successes of Italian music ever. I don't know if you think it could work but I have this nagging synergy of the two pieces in my head and I'd love to hear an interpretation from you on that wonderful Genos 2 and no doubt using your amazing skills with the Logic software for the assembly of the parts, resulting in a lush and full (as usual for you) medley. I look forward with interest to your observations, and thank you for the pleasure that you bring with each upload. Hello David. I don't know about anyone else, but my head is SPINNING hehe. What an absolute TREAT! And, although some of the parameters you set go right over my head, it's very interesting indeed to see how familiar you are with the software and how intimately you know the instruments you have chosen for the song. It's great (and very considerate of you) for you to demonstrate the knack of playing the keyboard, but in the manner that you would play the selected instrument, which I understand. This is the key to realism, after all said n done.. I look forward to being left even further behind as the series progresses, but I won't give up on it! I'm here for the long haul, but if you start commentating in French Canadian you'll definitely lose me cos I'm NOT switching on subtitles; your tutorial is waaaaay too visual for me to be trying to absorb the video whilst at the same time trying to read subtitles. So, be warned...Stay English Canadian or I'll have to say au revoir hahahahahaha. Keep up the good work! You're incidentally revealing more and more of your skill set and talents with every upload. A great taster, David. The dynamics and super-articulation in the voices you chose are electrifying. Your interpretation made the hairs on my arms and back of my neck stand to attention hehe. It was great to see the whole Logic screen in conjunction with the audio. Watching the playhead traverse the timeline gave me the heads-up on what's about to happen and when. Very interesting to watch and listen to, and, although I know little or nothing about Logic, I'm certain your revelations will be interesting for me to watch and hear, and will be most informative for Logic users and Genos 2 users who are looking to explore this very powerful addition to their creativity toolbox. Is there a way to zoom out in the Logic screen so that when you play your example by hitting the play button and the playhead scans from left to right, all the individual tracks (and instruments) can be seen at the same time? That would make it possible for a complete newby like me to connect with the audio visually when an instrument part starts? Thanks for another very interesting upload. In your super medley, the biggest and most exciting development was left by you until the very last minute when, out of nowhere, you threw in those fantastic celtic off-beat rhythms. Even for someone like me who hasn't a clue about the nuts and bolts of it, your explanation and guidance would provide a valuable insight into the amount of work, organisation and even the physical numbers of recording tracks that can be involved in the making of a 3-minute-or-so (or even longer) video. It's a treat to hear an accomplished musician play his own (technically very complex, but musically thrilling) arrangement, and having respect for all the passing chords in your version which get missed in an EZPlay-type arrangement. The "fullness" in comparison is marvellous. Thanks for the upload and the enormous amount of time it must have taken to produce it. It's also great, especially for those with far greater knowledge than I, to see key hints on the screen as to how you put this together, including your use of the PC and its associated DAW software.
