I only tow when I head up to Maine about once a month maybe twice, it’s about a 5 hour trip I do tend to find my self with my foot in it a lot so I would say I have a heavy foot I would say it’s good for daily driving, it’s just alittle bit laggy at times but nothing overwhelming

They only haze like that if they're getting too much fuel. Take a look at the video of my LB7 starting up and see how little smoke it makes! I hadn't started it for a few days when I made the video. Let me know what you think in the comments!

@@countrycustomsracing1344 Here's the bottom line: If a truck with a DPF and SCR system is hazing smoke on a cold start, there's something seriously wrong with it. If the truck has been deleted and it's hazing smoke, it's getting too much fuel. My truck puffed a bit of smoke on its cold start, but it cleared up immediately after the engine started. Any smoke out of a diesel engine is bad. Period.

Most noticeable when cranking, should sound even as motor turna over. There is a slight drop out. Best way to be sure would be to look at cyl Contributions and run a compression test. If all checks out ok make sure overhead is in spec and consistent across all cylinders. Turbo sounds wicked though.

Jedidiah I only have half the glow plugs working in this video I’m just too lazy to replace the relay I don’t know if that has anything to do with it

No hate but Jedidiah can you please explain the sound you hear, because every lb7 including my which is pretty much stock sound identical when turning over. Thanks!

@@calebfaler9091 depends on the truck, whos tune youll be running and how big of a tune you plan on running my truck is estimated rwhp is around 625, could be more could be less im running a max effort tune from kory willis and a fass 150 and a built trans and fleece 63mm in the valley

It's common for older diesel engines to do this they dont have the same emissions bullcrap all the new ones have. That white smoke on a cold start is very normal. If its warm and smoking there is a issue.

Lb7’s are old diesels, all old diesels tick idc what it is, white smoke on start up when cold is normal for any truck truck diesel or gas.

A bit of smoke before it fires up is normal. For it to continue to smoke, it has to be getting more fuel than it can burn. Take a look at the cold start video I made of my LB7 starting up and see how little it smokes! Let me know what you think in the comments!

Caleb Faler don’t run a cheetah turbo, they have terrible reputations for blowing up. Run a dans diesel 64mm drop in with 45% over SAC injectors and sportsman cp3 and you’re good for 650 hp.

yea but who buys 6.4's Lol 6.0s are hit or miss some last forever getting beat on with no studs, its strange.

You realize 6.0 and 6.4 are not the only ford diesel, right? The old IDIs from 87-94 are still going strong. Same with the 7.3s. One's in my driveway right now. 6.0s and 6.4s are from 2003-2010. Thats 7 years of "bad" engines, when in reality, they're not complete junk. 6.0 problems are well know, and easy to prevent. A lot of the problems come from people running way too much boost and fuel through an otherwise stock engine. When built right, a 6.0 will blow the doors off and LB7. And not every 6.4 was a lemon. I know guys with 6.4s with well over a quarter million, and still going strong. You don't _have_ to pick a team, man. Its not hometown sports. They're trucks lmao. But were forgetting the real king. The 24 valve.

Lb7’s boost pressure sensor from the factory only read up to 22-23psi. I’m sure he’s pushing way more. I had mine tested on my lb7 and it got up to 42psi in stock turbo with a ppe boost valve and tuning.
