Community Resilience - Dr. Michael Ungar
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.4 года назад
After 22 people were killed by a gunman disguised as a police officer in rural Nova Scotia during April of 2020, communities were badly traumatized. Even worse, with the COVID-19 pandemic still raging, community healing became very difficult. In this interview by Matt Galloway for CBC’s national morning show, The Current, on April 23, Dr. Michael Ungar discusses how communities heal. His work w...

That for this. It has helped provide a very good overview of how to build resilient children

Hello Dr Ungar, Is your study limited to Nova Scotia only or may I refer this to individuals related to my area in Montreal?

Building resilience equates to Compliancy training. It’s Pavlovian obedience training that uses empathy, fear, guilt and propaganda to coerce/manipulate people into believing they are building resilience when really they are building compliant communities who don’t question authority and are willing to forego their own authority/freedoms/liberties and independence for a bit of security and safety. So, just from this little speech, it’s obvious that even the experts have been brainwashed into this warped way of controlled bias academic thinking which goes hand in hand with being well educated. Here’s your little Scooby snack for being a well trained obedient civilian that has learnt to kneel, stay and be silent when told.

This seems like the opposite of resilience. This seems like sheltering a child from harmful experiences and giving them a safe space. Don’t you believe that you need to face hardship in life on the small and medium level to then obtain the ability to be able to take large amounts of hardship and still be okay? The definition of resiliency is “the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness. The ability for a substance or object to spring back into shape; elasticity.” So how do we expect children who become teens or older without facing hardship/struggle to bounce back into shape, recover quickly. I believe this method creates a very detrimental affect on youth because they will not be prepared for the struggle and toughness of life and cripple.

This was a wonderful experience. It was enlightening, energizing, entertaining and there were so many opportunities for networking. The NGO site visits were an added bonus. Kudos to Resilience Research Centre and Optentia Research Focus Area (North West University) and special thanks to Amber Raja!
