For me bro ass was on GO I tried everything even using all my arrows and a-little bit items to calm him down, but through all that i had no choice but to kill him 💀 Probably missed out on some good skills but a it is what it is lol

I thought he turned hostile against me because I was swinging my katana in the room but apparently this reaction is scripted and is actually part of the quest 🤔

to anyone who’s new there is an easier cheese but you need to acquire the “Rotten Breath” incantation which can easily be acquired. To get this you need to kill one dragon don’t worry by the time your fighting this guy you should be powerful enough to kill atleast one of the many dragons. Once u kill a dragon you’ll get a “dragon heart”. take this heart to the communion of dragons located in caelid. from there in that ruins you can make an offering to a small altar and there is the list of dragon related things you can get. and that’s how u get the “rotten breath” incantation. now to cheese this dingus just simply aggro him and run out the door. he will still try to hit you so be careful. at the door get out of his attack range and just spray him down with your rotten breath. two good attacks of that should trigger the scarlet rot effect and cut his health down little by little. then before you know it boom he’s chill again. hoped this helped (^w^)/

On my second run through I killed him the first chance I had, he gave me a Dragon Somber Smithing Stone

I chugged my tank flask, charged in, got hit but took almost no damage because flask. Hit him with a 7+ grafted great sword a few good swings and he started chilling. Didnt have to mess him up bad. I don't think I would have won if he hadn't stopped, maybe if I can use my +7 mimic with same weapon.

People say he asks you to stop but he just screams weird. I thought he's gonna transform or some shit so I kept attacking and it didn't take much for him to get hostile again.

It took you only a little damageyand he stopped, fucking animal didn't stop at all even without rot or poison so I had to beat him to death. This game wasn't even close to playtested.

For int player just use the night mist from outside door. 😂 And i use the night mist too kill the gargoyle too, but bit hard, since we need to kite it often and of course we are in the inside behind the pillar to tank his breath atack 😂

I gave him 4 roots. He was still calm, and still craved more (though the dialogue changed) - but still calm. Then I sniped and killed his friend outside, and now he is as aggressive as a teenager.

He attacked me too, I damn near killed him!! I just went to the site of grace right down the way from his temple. Rested and went back and he was reset. Make sure to reset him!! He gives great loot

I’m genuinely confused. I’m level 70, have made easy work of every boss in the game so far, and yet Gurranq deals 3/4 of my HP with every single attack, and my best weapons do absolutely nothing to him. Even the cheese methods for this fight are literally impossible due to how quickly he can kill me if I am even slightly visible. Wtf.

I was so excited to bring him another death root but first I needed to apply a new ash of war on my weapon. So I was like what the hell I'll just do it over at the grace inside of the room and kill two birds with one stone. I applied my ash and right when I turned around to give him his treat this mf bodied my ass so damn fast I was so confused and butthurt

He never calmed down for me and I ended up killing him! Wtf! I was expecting him to give up at some point like all of the other videos I’ve seen.. what a shitty bug to have in the game still. I never got to finish the damn quest line

Don't know why, but he never calmed down for me. Even when he was at 2% health, he was still swinging and because he was poisoned I couldn't make it to the grace in time before it killed him.

I almost killed him on my first characer since I started deathroot gathering very late in game. He started swinging and I womboed him to 30% with a few swings and he stopped. Almost ruined my deathroot work lol

I used hoarfrost stomp through the doorway, took like 7 or 8 hits on him

I spawned in and he just went ballistic on me 😂😂 for no apparent reason. Scared the life outta me.

Cause rot buildup and he instantly tells you that he remembers his sin and to “put it away”.
