It's one of my favorite dances, and damn, I miss ballroom dancing. The pandemic will hopefully be gone by summer and i can start it up again. Haven't danced for years.

I saw this video in 2016. I am reviewing this in 2021. These routines are now my go-to moves. Nightclub 2step is my favorite as you can speed up and shorten the steps at salsa speed. Also in other dances with a triple step. Thank you.

Jamie, thanks for directing me to this video. (Shooting Ducks). We hope to begin dancing again soon, Covid allowing. I pick and choose our combos because my wife has vertigo and can't do too many turns especially outside ones or any double ones. Still tons of things she can do. No cure for her issues. We LOVE dancing and your videos are so clear! We are Social Intermedate Ballroom dancers and a little weak in WCS.

Absolutely love this video. I love the song and I love the way you dance to it. I have always loved night club 2 step, and you just gave an excellent example of how it should be done.

Thanks Jamie Orr. This is the 2 step I learned 30 years ago before going to ballroom dancing, but there are many many variations. The trick to a good two step is to stay smooth and "get in your knees" as they say in ballroom dancing. It should look like you're "gliding" on the dance floor. You absolutely MUST avoid hopping up and down since it detracts from the beauty of the dance. Stay on the outside of the dance floor and move in counterclockwise direction. Let other dancers who dance in place stay in the middle of the floor. Adjust your "gliding speed" according to what everybody else is doing, even if you are executing single or double underarm turns or promenade or any other fancy stuff. If you slow down, etiquette calls for you to move to the center. If you are young but among older and slower folks, don't show off and race around them, rather slow to their speed with shorter steps or wait till they have tired and the dance floor will be all yours anyway. Etiquette is paramount, smoothness is paramount, practice is paramount (repetition, repetition, repetition). Great video and beginner's lesson Jamie. Thanks for uploading.
