For everyone wondering why you're supposed to attatch them, it's not only recommended for earthquake zones, but also if you live with/have small children around. Kids will climb it and they will topple. Usually need to be anchored from 1-13.

The only time I did this was when my apartment had a slant. It was so bad i had to use a plant hanger to have to proper space and support 😅
