Peculiarly this was released by Convertion in 1980 as the Sam Records b-side of Let's Do It but it's actually the 1978 Dunn Pearson produced track by Four Flights.

Always a great track
This was the B-side to “Let’s Do It”. It was originally released in 1978 as the Four Flights, and then reissued it in 1980 as Convertion. I saw this copy last year at the Kingston Artists Collective, and I didn’t get it.
This is amazing
What a absolute Masterpiece!
Isn’t this public image limited?

To Mr. Dunn Pearson: Hello. Nice to meet you (even under these confusing circumstances). There is a central element to the clandestine, under-the-table release of both "Let's Do It" and "All I Want Is You" on SAM Records in 1980: Greg Carmichael. Initially. he approached my team (James Calloway, Sonny T. Davenport) and I.. to arrange and record the rhythm of an original song he presented. He booked a 12 hour session to do it. After finishing that rhythm recording in just over a single hour, there was all that additional studio time to kill. Greg suggested we do whatever we wanted with it.. and that led to the creation and completion of the song that became known as "Let's Do It" (the original title was "Put My Lovin' Where You Are").. in a single overnight session. Shortly after completing what we thought was the final mix, Greg disappeared completely from the radar. The next thing we knew.. our song was on the radio, under the title "Let's Do It". We rushed to the Record Shack on 125th Street to snag a copy... and found that, not only was the song released (without our approval) but the writer/publisher credits were completely incorrect. With Greg still MIA.. we went directly to SAM Records, informed them that the song was actually our property, and made a deal to correct the label copy and writer/publisher info. Our song was covered by MCA/Universal publishing.. and SAM did not want to pick a fight with the Big Boys. We had no association with the creation or recording of the 'B' side (your song) whatsoever. And, like you, put forth all our energies to correct the 'mess' that Greg Carmichael put us in... after taking the money and running. Leroy Burgess.
GREAT
Do you have vocal version?
Hi Apn HackerTeam, I do have the 12", this instrumental version is on the b-side. The vocal version is on the a-side but I'm not able to rip it at this time, away from home.
The vocals aren't great at all
This is Dunn Pearson the SOLE WRITER, ARRANGER & PRODUCER... The Group is FOUR FLIGHTS... I recorded this song at SUMA Recording, Cleveland OHIO...The group was managed by Tony Richburg... The musicians were members of the O'Jays band as was I... The orchestra were members of the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra... This version is an ABSOLUTE LIE!!!! My lawyer was handling a lawsuit for/against RED GREG Records and happened to notice my song was RIPPED OFF on the B'Side... You accurately note my recording was done in 1978... The record business is a crazy business with people doing things that go against the integrity of the TRUTH...WOW!
Thanks so much for all your wonderful music Dunn, I love this one especially. I have yet to find an original Four Flights but when I heard this on the b-side of the otherwise brilliant Leroy Burgess A-side here I knew it was your track - it just makes no sense, it's not like there was a lack of material - do you speak with Leroy, would he know or was it the record label's doing?
Movement Thanks for your words. I don't know if Burgess knew before it was pressed but he certainly had to know after the record came out that it wasn't his or had nothing to do with his group. NO ONE ever confronted or better yet stopped from committing this FRAUD. Not even public acknowledgement...
Hi Dunn. Interesting info. Why is Red Greg Records being sued? I thought Almeria and Red Greg was the same operation.

More housey re-mix by Edie Matos from a few years back, still keeps much of the soul from the original ruclips.net/video/9o6S8rRS2wY/видео.html
Love every second of this classic! Love the strings! Get chills during the background harmonies at the conclusion!
SUCH a great tune with a lovely sentiment
Check out the comments at ruclips.net/video/7J46AtWhBmw/видео.html for some background info on this smooth mellow groove

Tenderness - Keep On Trying
Where is the sample from?
It's not his own production with a sample. It's a re-edit of Tenderness - Keep On Trying (1978).
I used to play this OUT in clubs...What a tune...Tenderness - Gotta keep on trying.. Funky & ...well....FUNKY !!!!!!!!!!
wow

Grande
tenderness keep on trying
One of my fave records / 12"s.....EVER !!! & i know what it samples !
It's not sampled. It's an edit of the song.
@@waxmaster-c At the end....it's a sample of the original vocal...
@@drstevie No, the whole track is a "sample". He just took Tenderness - Gotta Keep On Trying and edited the song he thought would be better to DJ with.
Hi Bissia - and you too, hope all is well!
Hey uzumaki70 nice to find you here!
