I have experienced Gambling Addiction and lived it for the last 20 years it will take so much money of you and make you feel extremely depressed my advice is if you do lose don’t go back and chase your loses your then using Good money to chase bad money It will create a vicious cycle where you are constantly chasing loses and then it gets to a stage where you have lost so much that it really doesn’t matter anymore and that is where it will take you my advice is if you have a bad session and lose badly just walk away don’t go back And accept that the moneys gone its only going to get worse the further you go ahead.

Incredible stuff. Glad it showed the full cycle. How many of us have gotten our heads back above water and then some only to convince ourselves we could do it long term.

I don’t know why people get so upset at the bailiffs. They’re just doing their job. Yes, it’s not nice that they come to the door but you’ve entered a financial agreement/contract with the people or company you borrowed money from. What did you think was going to happen if you don’t pay it back? It won’t go away. If you can’t afford to pay it back, don’t borrow it.

As a current addict, this is sad. I am losing my house and don't have a single penny to my name. I'm scared to dearth of being homeless but I have nobody to blame but myself. I wishi never started gambling. It's ruined my life and my future. In all honesty, once the bank sends a foreclosure and takes my house , that I'm just gonna end it all. It seems it's the only way out.

Gambling is for entertainment only. Never bring more than you're willing to lose, set a play budget, and stick to it. It's not getting rich quickly. It's a fun night out with some friends. And if on the rare occasion you do walk out with more money than you come in with. That is the exception. Not the rule.

At least you're not 35 with a great job, beautiful wife and 2 kids that you might lose because of this. My last sentence is sincere but don't pity me, but do me honour and learn from me. It isn't over yet for my family but it's close. Stay strong to everyone out there. God bless.

i felt every second of this even the guilt i felt it..i just gambled my whole salary on slots after 2 years of gambling small amounts (10 to 50$) lost it all in a matter of minutes, what makes gambling the worst thing can ever affects one is that at that moment i wasn't thinking about anything laterally anything but the ways and lines of those slots..i wasn't even thing of my mom and my little brother, the reasons why i'm writing you today, i left college to carry my family after the divorce of my parents, my brother is in his first college year we live together away of our mother 50% of my salary goes to rent but i am a responsible person i have nothing else to live for but this two persons how can i forgot all of this and gamble all the money away..it's killing me guys not gonna lie somehow i stopped myself from suicide that night after all i couldn't leave my family alone but the best thing i did is that the day after i told my mom everything how stupid and hamulated i am i cried out. at the end my mom paid rent for us this month we made sure that my brother has his pocket money. but the guilt is still there it's been 12 days now i watched my friends gambling i even gambled the cashback. i really don't want to deposit anymore..my mother told me to call her whenever i'm feeling it i'll stick to that. sorry for my bad writing skills and my English and hope everyone will get over it. As a former gambling addict, my addiction taught me a lot about life. One of the more important lessons was "don't chase bad money with good money".

I am struggling with gambling, at the point that i want to kill myself, i am very depressed cuz it,after i lost my money every paycheck, i can't take it anymore, i am hurting my family so bad with my addiction, i don't know what to do nomore😢😢😢

Gambling addiction is brutal. Emotionally and financially by far the worst addiction. There are no limits. I ended up choosing heroin addiction as a means to try stop the gambling and manage the emotional pain of the fall out. There was a physical price to pay if I gambled. It is such a deep rooted addiction, your money represents a lot of your opportunities in this World, it hurts to know you’ve thrown it away. The longer you go the harder it gets. It also hurts everyone that cares for you.

I started gambling in the 1990's and by the mid-2000's I was addicted. I even recall nights I'd go drinking and dancing with girls and after we parted I would head to the casino. It was like I was living a double life. I was working low-wage jobs so once my credit card and student line of credit was maxed out, I began stealing from my employeers until I was arrested in January of 2005. It was 8 days after my birthday. The cop who was taking me to the police station said dryly 'Wow, happy birthday.' I paid back every dollar I stole within 18-months and moved away from that city immediately. Since then I've avoided gambling, but it cost me the respect of the people who I worked with, which was the worst part as many of them were extremely fond of me. It was just last month I visited the city I lived in during the early-2000's and decided to walk into the casino I used to frequent back then. I just wandered around for a bit, got a coffee, observing what other people were doing, and then decided to leave after 30-minutes. It baffled me as to how I once found it all so enticing. In truth, I left feeling slightly nauseous.

I used to think gambling was a joke until I saw this one stat. 1 out 4 seriously addicted gamblers will commit suicide. Another thing I witnessed is a surgeon blow 30k in 2 hrs, he signs a paper and gets another 30k!! The dealer told me he’s there every weekend blowing thousands. I realized how serious gambling is and how rich people go broke!
