My hobby is breeding and racing pigeons and I live on the south coast of England. Many of the pigeon races are from France where on the last part of their journey they have to cross over 100 miles of open sea. The furthest race is some 529 miles from my lofts and in one of them they were released at 7.00 am in the morning and my first bird back arrived at 8.41pm on the evening of the same day.

Just asking, we live in Malta and pigeons have to cross the sea to come home from Italy. When asked pigeon releasers said that some pigeons do not have the stamina to cross the sea and just return back on land. I think, especially new pigeons find this very hard and it is heart breaking but also differentiates between a good from a bad pigeon. I think that most youngsters and unexperienced pigeons do not come to the loft because they refuse to cross over 150 km over the sea. Would like to know you opinions in this regard.
My own experience when racing young birds across the English Channel for the first time, is that the percentage missing is very low, because obviously some of that low percentage would have been lost if no sea crossing was involved.

Not sure if your asking me a question Bill, or just stating Tipes does not have a video showing its features.
@@meridklt I was really just making the statement that Tipes and other systems are missing a great opportunity showcase their systems and help their customers learn how to make the systems work. Thank you for putting this information about your clock system on RUclips. It seems short sighted that clock manufacturers don't do that.

I do not use supplements. To achieve silky soft feathers, let them have a bath in clean water at least once each week and do not overcrowd the bath with too many birds.
