Searchmont Ski Resort to Sault Ste. Marie via Goulais Ride
We rode from Searchmont Ski Resort through the Robinson trail back to Goulais, On. We stopped in Goulais for lunch, then continued on the trail back to Heyden, and then back to Conner Rd. in the Sault.
We had actually done the entire loop but it was so cold in the morning I figured my batteries would not last long on the camera. We started the day at -25C before windchills. When we had got to Searchmont their water froze up so they had to close the restaurant. Because we didn't know how long it would be and that there would be a rush as soon as it opened we decided to continue on to the Zone in Goulais for lunch.
The trails to Searchmont were freshly groomed and we were one of the first pe...

Does it come with the linq bracket? Is it waterproof ?

It did come with the linq bracket and the longer screws. Make sure you save the original screws in case you ever remove it because the longer screws will puncture the battery. As for water proof, I am not 100% sure. I would say its water resistant for sure, but I have only used it twice so far and both times have been on nice days. Compared to say the deep snow bag, this would not be water proof to that extent as the zippers are not sealed.

Hey, great video on the trail bag install. I love this bag, it has been my go to bag for day trips for the last 4 years. Did your bag come with a small allen keyed set screw that can be threaded into the linq handle inside the bag? This small screw allows you to lock the linq handle in place, making it more difficult to theft and also giving piece of mind that the linq handle will remain in place, as there is no rubber strap to pull over the handle.

Hi yes I saw that little screw and after I finished filming that I noticed where it actually went. For the moment I am going to leave it out, but maybe once I pick up a tool kit for the sled I will add it. The problem I had when I saw other videos on this bag is I had no size prospective. People showed how it installs, but I wanted to know if it would fit a couple of drinks... My local dealer didn't have any out on display, but once I saw how much room it actually had I figured it would be perfect. The only other thing I am probably going to do is put a couple of microfiber cloths down in the bottom of it since it has a hard plastic bottom to keep things from scratching or sliding as much. Then if I need to clean or dry my hands too I have something there. I am glad you like this video too, never done the youtube thing before so just starting out, figured I would start with some how too's while installing stuff on the new sled. I was actually just going to buy an action camera so I can record things like sled or 4 wheeler rides.

@@AlgomaRidez I lock the seat bag onto the sled with that little set screw and leave it on there pretty much all the time. I agree with you by placing a few ,microfiber cloths down in there, or old trail maps, a spare pair of gloves, so many things fit into this bag, its been so good for me that I rarely use the larger bags on the back unless doing saddle bag touring trips. Keep up the good videos, very well explained and they don't go on for ever like some others, simple and to the point!

Nice Looking sled, great video. Like your custom license numbers and where you placed them. Can you tell me the dimensions of these numbers? I going to local shop to get some cut. As far as the handguards not clearing on one side. I think its due to the angle the steering post goes down in through the top of the frame, down to the bottom. I believe it goes on a bit of an angle for clearance of exhaust and other things under the hood. Therefore the difference at full lock side to side, Its only slight difference but enough to make guards hit on one side. Could try adjusting you handlebars back a touch to see if they clear then? I have FAR riser so they will clear in the rearward settings.

Hi thanks, sorry for taking a bit to get back, been sick the last week or so. The custom license was done by the dealer but they are 1 inch high by 3/4 of an inch wide for each letter. Well even if I adjusted the handle bars the next thing I added after was the mirrors so if I left the hand guards on I wouldn't be able to see back past them. I do like that the mirrors sit out further than they did on my Yamaha Nytro, but I did like on my nytro I didn't need to remove the hand guards. The mirrors attached to the handle bar, but didn't stick out as far so I would have to move sometimes to see behind me...

Nice. Ya its odd, its almost like something is out of alignment or something. I even got out a measuring tape but could not find anything out of place. Ya I was hoping to get out there today, but we got about 1 meter of snow this week, so everyone has been digging out. I had a yamaha nytro that I just sold yesterday, and this backcountry was its replacement... I am going to miss the reliability of that sled though... It was bullet proof. Only problem was in fresh snow I would just get stuck. I am hoping the backcountry is a lot better in the fresh snow, but still good on the trail.
