I concerned, is our guy gonna slide off the roof?
I almost did! Thanks for watching and commenting.
This was tremendously helpful thanks. Specifically the part about the fan being sensitive to the in and out for the power. I just figured it called for two hot terminals and was wireless so it wouldn't matter but it did. I had to trace the fan connection which was annoying but sure enough it works great. Really appreciate this. I found it by googling "WC400 install"
There’s a reason professionals don’t use them
Difference in Pros versus DIYers: You get a lot of practice fine-tuning your skills Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment.
So one side would have say....fan on top screw.....light on bottom screw of same side with ground wire also on same side. The other side would have hot wire or possibly 2 hot wires? I ask as i want to put up 2 ceiling fans with lights in 1 bedroom each.
As long as the fans don’t draw more than your circuit amperage, “breaker” one hot wire can feed both. If your two fans draw more than your circuit then run two hot wires. Most ceiling fans only pull around 2 amps so most likely you are fine with one hot wire.
Thanks
You are welcome thank you for watching and thank you for taking the time to comment!
Hello 👋 this was an awesome video. My question is my toilet flushes but doesn't fill back up. I usually turn off water n turn it back on and it starts filling back up. In this case its my filler valve i need to replace? Or do i replace the canister?
That sounds like a fill valve issue, I would start there. Thanks for watching and commenting
It's a piece of junk
Well I use mine daily and have had zero problems. Thanks for watching and sharing
THANK YOU for this video!! You saved me a lot of time and anxiety from not having to take the back of the toilet off and remove the whole canister!! Loved that it was a quick fix with just a $7 seal.
Fantastic, I’m glad it helped! Thank you for sharing
Thank you for posting this video. I read the included instructions, such as they were, and felt pretty sure that I’d end up putting it together wrong if I relied on them. Your easy to follow video cleared up many questions I had.
Thank you for watching and commenting, I am happy it helped you.
It is a great Illustration, but the yellow cap piece broke from the opposite side. The nipple is still on the yellow piece and the hose fits just fine but it is the opposite side where the tube screws to the cap. However, the same technique is used here to fix it. Thank you for sharing your expertise.
I do see that happen every now and then, thanks for watching and sharing
Thank you so much! You saved me a lot of time or money! ( I even don't know where to get the parts)
You are welcome, thank you for watching and commenting
Solid review, team! Keep it up 💪

Awesome video! Thank you. I replaced an inducer fan blade that rotted at the center where it connects to the motor last year. I did not replace the motor because it still worked. If that inducer motor ever stopped working, would there be some type of protection to stop it from running if that motor or fan blade ever stopped functioning? I have a Utica gas boiler for forced hot water heat. Thanks in advance!
Yes the unit “system “ should have safety features that shut off the unit if the forced air fan stops running. Check your units manual and look under safety features.
DYI
I assume you mean diy and I would agree, thank you for watching and commenting
Thank you! I'm preparing to do my first Toilet replacement. This was very helpful.
You are very welcome, let me know if you have questions. Thank you for watching and commenting
Will be doing the exact install soon. But will take me more like 300 minutes, not 30 secs;)
You might be surprised it’s not too hard thank you for watching and thank you for commenting
I would rather finish the garage myself.
I agree I think you can save an awful lot of money and you can also do it the way you want it! Thank you for watching and commenting
I was thinking a two part rivet, for this.
That would definitely work, thanks for watching and commenting
"hot mud" is just a term for a powered product that needs to be mixed?
And it sets up faster so you can complete more in a day , that’s why you have the big numbers on the bag. That’s extremely helpful if you were a handyman and you are trying to get a job done in a single day instead of three or four days. Also sets up stronger so it works better on repairs like cracks. And this is because of all of the additives that they add to the mix. Thank you for watching and thank you for the question.
You state that the canister floats and will rise and stay open til the water closet has emptied. Mine looks identical to yours and mine has no air chamber (like a flapper) causing it to float on top of the water as it drops. When flushing mine the canister will drop closed unless you hold down the handle til it has emptied. If not held down the canister drops and retains the remaining water in the water closet then starts to fill again. My Koehler canister #1069722 upon close examination has no floating capabilities.
There are many reasons from the handle to even clogs, high water pressure as well as low. Damaged canister and so on. Check your water level and make sure it’s to the top of the canister. Another possibility is the fill valve not working correctly, possibly clogging and not allowing enough water to fill quickly. I have a couple videos on the fill valve, you can remove the top gasket and clean it. Both free. Make sure the toilet isn’t bubbling when you flush it, indicating a clog. Then I would look at the entire flush valve assembly, lastly the fill valve assembly. Hope this helps, thank you for watching. Let me know what you find.
This is a great video and I am thrilled that I found your channel. When I asked Kohler about my issue they recommended I purchase GP1059291 seal and 1374724 washer. You didn't mention the washer in your video. Where is it and does it need to be replaced? Thanks again and enjoy your coffee.
That is the washer that is located between the part that stays in the tank when you remove the canister like I show In the video. You don’t need to pull that part to repair the canister 99 out of 100 times, that’s why I didn’t mention it in the video. As long as it’s not broken it should be left alone. Thank you for watching and commenting
Thank You for the information, we just bought a house. Good to know 🙏
You are welcome, congratulations on your new home. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Thank you for this vid. Helpful. My problem is. If I flush the toilet the water does not kick on to fill the tank. I've cleaned and flushed the flush valve. I don't believe the float is sticking. However, if I turn the water supply off, and then on, the water rushes into the canister as it should. Perplexing. Any thoughts. Have you encountered this issue? I'm now subscribed to your channel. Much appreciate your coaching.
Thank you for subscribing and watching! Generally when I see that issue it’s in the fill valve not the flush valve. I would rebuild or replace the valve. Both are easy and I have videos showing both. Look under my plumbing playlist.
Why not let the user adjust the temp for every shower? Some like it hotter than others. Is it just to prevent scalding? Isn’t the old style shower valve have the problem of being too hot?
You absolutely can still adjust the temp by turning the handle, it just allows you to preset the temperature to start where you normally like it. You can also set temperature max at the valve for safety
Thanks man!
@@anthonyletto8712 you are very welcome thanks for watching and thanks for commenting
I replaced the canister but now the water is bubbling in the toilet bowl and sounds like it keeps “running”. What am I doing wrong? 😣
@@cassandraoshea4713 I would pull the canister back out and reseat it. Bubbling sounds like something maybe stuck . It will make a gurgling sound if there’s something stuck in the line somewhere.
I just watched your other video and it stopped based on turning the screw on the flush valve. Fingers crossed!
They make roller Spinners that you plug into an electric drill which is great for the final dry. As for brushes, I Hook them on a bungee cord and twirl it around like a lasso. Outside of course. Gets almost all the water out and the airflow nearly completely dries the brush.
That’s awesome, do you have the link to the product? I will review it.
My issue is the other end of hose keeps coming off....any fix for that? Is there supposed to be a clip that holds it on?
Sounds like the hose is wore out, I replaced mine. You can get new hoses at Home Depot.
Thank you for finding the charger spot. For the life of me couldn't find it and no one is telling. Thank you
lol, it was a bit tricky! Thanks for Watching and Commenting.
thank you so much. Saveed me a ton of money
Fantastic am happy it helped, thank you for watching and commenting.
I enjoy your videos but the wire should not extend that far. Most of us use the wire stripper hole to make the bend.
@@billsnyder6945 yes sir I know most guys don’t like the ends that long, it should be 3/8 to 1/2 inch. I have always made mine longer but pull them tight so they can’t ever ground out and 90% of the time I use needle nose, pliers to bend them around the screw very tightly. Something I started doing as a kid. I’m 60 now so it’s hard to stop, that’s most likely where I learned to strip them longer. And yes I have used the wire stripper hole and that is a coming up video. Thank you for watching my videos and feel free to let me know how you do things, your never to old to learn.
@@UltimateDiyer no problem if that’s the way you want to make a bend, with a needle nose, but strippers are already in your hand so that is the most efficient way and if done right wraps the proper bend around the screw without having to separately pinch it, the screw tightens and wraps it around perfectly. Sorry, but that wire in your video extends behind the receptacle and is a hazard as it could come in contact with a bare ground wire. What you are showing is simply bad practice, against code, and a not a good way to train a DIYer who would not know better. Electric work is too risky for hacks. However I commend your efforts to produce these videos, you obviously have put your heart into it.
Thank you for this video!! Great tips, and a very detailed start to finish. Keep it up and I'll keep watching!
Awesome I’m happy it helped and the goal is to keep putting videos out and get better with each one. Thank you for watching and commenting
Saved me from buying! Thanks!

rotten wood on our fence comes off easily usimg water peasure 😅😅😅
Very true, but I’m scheduled to go ahead and replace the entire fence this next month, All they wanted was a little more time until they could afford to replace it all
Thanks for the very helpful video. You just saved me from buying parts that I didn't need.
Glad I could help
Yeah, it's a hot water heater. And then it's a hot water boiler. And then it's a steam boiler. So, yeah, maybe we're dumb, because we heat hot water. But, seriously, who doesn't have knowledge if they don't differentiate. IDK
Wry good answer, thanks for watching and commenting
This reminds me of what people call snowmobiles in the north country. We call them skidoos which is a brand name 😂.
True, thanks for watching and commenting
Getting ready to do my 1st River rock shower floor. What is that u used as a base for a pan
That is a WEDI shower pan. They work great but not cheap. It’s a German product
Do you have to use a bonding agent?
If you don’t want to try this product at Home Depot, I just used it and it worked very well. Quikrete 1 Qt. Concrete Crack Seal is used for repairing cracks in concrete driveways, patios and sidewalks. The crack seal can be applied directly from the bottle and is gray in color to blend with the natural color of concrete. It is perfect for horizontal concrete cracks up to 1/2 in. width
Thanks for sharing. It appears that the one what I have is type c and I just noticed that it is split open at the joint due to corrosion. I see the corrosion on the elbows as well. I was looking for the screw size as none of sockets match. You mentioned 1/4" max and mine is less than 1/4. The issue is that I am not able to remove any of them due to corrosion. Slot is wider and flat screw drivers don't fit it either. Any idea on how to remove these screws so that I can replace the pipe.
Locking Chanel lock if you can get ahold of it. You might also try an extraction kit. amzn.to/3TTVNQb
@@UltimateDiyer Thanks. I was able to remove the screws. Now, I could not remove the pipe. Can I insert a screwdriver into the elbow/pipe joint to pry-out? is there any other method?
Removed the old pipe. Waiting for the new. Thanks.
I've been having a related but not identical issue. In my case the issue is that the flush valve drops down too quickly, preventing the bowl from refilling properly regardless of fill valve settings. Is it possible I've got water inside the canister that's weighing it down, or is it a design issue?
We’ve had several others with the same issue and generally replacing the entire valve assembly. Seems to fix the problem. Just make sure that the water level is set correctly which it assumes you did by your description. Sometimes the handle itself can be bent and not flushing properly as well, so be sure you check those parameters. Also be sure you’re checking your fill valve that it is functioning and filling correctly. If it is clogged and not putting enough water out, sometimes it will not get enough water out in time and the canister shuts prematurely.
@@UltimateDiyer Thanks! The problem actually arose when replacing both the flush valve seal and the entire fill valve in one go, so it shouldn't be an issue with the fill valve. I'll replace that entire upper flush valve assembly and hopefully that'll fix it!
So how did you know that this is the exact trim kit and valve that I'm installing on my new shower renovation? Super clear instructions, thank you!
That is awesome. Great minds think alike. Hopefully it did help you. I try to be as clear as possible and believe I’m getting better and better with the videos and explaining thank you for watching and thank you for the comment.
This video was absolutely amazing! I was able to pretty much flawlessly get this thing installed!
That is awesome. I’m glad it helped. Thank you for watching it. Thank you for the comment.
Detailed, informative presentation. Key elements reinforced via repetition, nice touch. Speed just right for comprehension, able to listen and relate words to the video, without rewinding to replay as one often must do in many such videos.
