Evan Hammell

E.K.R. Hammell (Evan, he/him/his) is a Toronto-based, Prince Edward Island-born composer, arranger, & music editor.
Winner of three national composition awards in Canada (the Howard Cable Memorial Prize, Lloyd Carr-Harris Prize, and Oscar Bookbinder Prize), and a Finalist in the International Young Talented Composers Competition, Evan’s music includes over a dozen commissioned original works and arrangements, with over a hundred known performances heard across four countries (Canada, USA, UK, & Spain).
Aside from devising pretentiously abbreviated stage names, Evan’s other talents mainly involve playing bass trombone, choral singing, and being impressively bad at eye contact.
