Approaches of the Total Hip Replacement - Orthopaedics Symposium 2023
The person that posted this video apparently doesn't answer inquiries. But I will give MY story anyway. I started having issues with pain and crunching sounds on the back left side of my cervical spine MANY years ago. I went to a couple chiropractors hoping for miracles. Just a waste of money. Went to the doctor who sent me for x-rays. The doctor that read the x-rays diagnosed me with spondylosis with myelopathy and sent me to PT. That PT was very worthless so I quit going. Just a handful of years ago, there was so much junk going on in my left shoulder blade and spine that I couldn't even lift my left hand for several months. Oddly, the left side eventually "fixed itself" and the pain moved into the center of my cervical spine for just a brief amount of time and has finally settled into the right side of the back of my cervical spine. I'm gonna leave out a bunch of steps to how I eventually ended up getting an MRI because the medical process is stupid and won't LISTEN to patients most of the time. I have seen 3 different neurosurgeons in 2024 and this is where the narrative of this video kinda aligns. Remember that my COMPLAINT is nasty pain in the back of my neck on the right-center side of my spine. My MRI shows clearly a VERY nasty narrowing of my spinal chord at C3-C4 and all 3 surgeons are really only concerned about that- understandably. The first NS I saw suggested an ADR because that is what he has been doing for many years. I sought a 2nd and 3rd opinion in a major city. The 2nd opinion wants to do a 2-level ACDF at C3-C4 and C4-C5. Third NS agrees with the 2nd NS. NONE of the surgeons are worried about the condition that I presented with- bottom right neck pain BUT they are ALL concerned about the compression on my spinal chord- well, you know, because a freak accident could literally KILL me. I went back to NS #1 for more clarification about an ADR and he pointed out the obvious to me (I have all of my imaging right here on my computer)- There is no reason to fuse C4-C5 along with the junk C3-C4 because C5-C6 is complete junk and C4-C5 looks great compared to the other 2 levels. From watching MANY videos like this one, I'm pretty sure that If I have a 2-level ACDF at C3-C4 an C4-C5- it won't take long before I will need surgery at C5-C6. I already knew that because I have been studying my imaging for several months. My decision is to go with the ADR at C3-C4. It just SUCKS that we have to figure out what course of treatment to get for ourselves because of so much conflicting information that we have to wade through.
This piece of shit cost me my career!! He said I was not fit for work, then refused to fill out my FMLA paperwork for my job, in Baton Rouge. 🤬
I have this problem too

I had C3-C4 ACDF due to this, 5 months ago as an emergency procedure. It gave me my life back.
I had my c5/6 disc replaced in 2020 and unfortunately mine have failed and will have my disc fused this Wednesday.
Mine has almost failed i will have a fusion soon :( bad decision
@@Raj-ul9myhow did it fail?? I am scheduled for a two level disc replacement
You are a fantastic listener which I appreciate! I’m also thankful that you were willing to work with me as opposed to using a one size fits all approach.
This is by far the BEST most improved ankle implant available. I’ve researched what implant has the best outcome from patient reviews. I do not believe it will be altered or improved much if at all bc it already is the most successful working implant. I had a Right total ankle with subtalar calcaneus fusion in dec 2023. I was not in a cast but non weight bearing for 2 months. Now beginning to add 25% weight for 2 weeks then increasing each week in 25% increments. I’ve had a Left total knee replacement about 6-7 yrs ago. This is by far much harder recovery process but worth it. You’ll need to consider what implant the surgeon usually uses, some do not use this implant/this technique. Or may have a contract with a different company. I have the Inbone size 3 tibia Inbone size 2 talas w a 2+ 10 mm polyethylene insert all by Stryker.
I have it also.Very painful surgery. You wont walk normal for bout a yr.im 10 yrs out and at the moment recovering from ankle saucerization. My leg bone was trying to grow around the implant and was almost covering it so bone had to be removed
Do these keep improving over time? Will need one in 10-15 years if I get lucky
Just had a hip replacement by Doctor Clark. He is an amazing competent confident surgeon. I am eternally grateful for having been referred to him and having my life changed for the better and to be able to get back to an active lifestyle which I haven't been able to do for several years. Great bedside manner and is super professional and knowledgeable.
I am a two time patient of Dr. Clark. Having both hips replaced changed my life. I was suffering pain and lack of mobility for a few years before I finally went in for surgery. I can't express how relieved I am now and I am so grateful to the expertise of Dr. Dana Clark. My first hip was replaced about 8 years ago and the second was 5 years ago and I lead a very active life, free of pain and as good as new.
I had what was called "the papaya injection" done in 1983. It was to dissolve inner disc, give it more cushion. I would be terrified to have ANY procedure done anymore. I was never tested to see if I any allergies to it, was never warned that it might fail. They discontinued this procedure BECAUSE IT DISSOLVED DISCS ENTIRELY!! So now I have no L4 + L5 discs. I wonder how THIS CEMENT will crumble years from now??? I WOULDN'T RISK IT!!!!
Outstanding!
Thank you kindly! We appreciate it! Have a great afternoon.
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
