@lowandfast357 Right! As a professional pilot, automation management and autopilot is an essential part of workload management and CRM. For inexperienced pilots it can also be a crutch, which can be detrimental. At 6,000 hours and counting, I leverage the AP and all the tech that the Cirrus offers.

@@LookingforHigher Agreed. Armchair pilots wouldn't understand, but every pilot with an available AP engages that bad boy shortly after takeoff and disengages sometime before/after the bottom of descent. There are few exceptions.

Hey Chad, I appreciate you checking out my video. I believe the AFB class D airspace only goes up to 2,500’, which is shocking because we see those fighters ripping around there at much higher altitude sometimes. So, 3,000’ flyover is permissible!

Thanks for checking out my video! We were at 11,500 and needed to descent to 3,800'. We had roughly 7,000' to lose. So, 7 x 3 = 21nm out for TOD. Then we take our groundspeed 200 KIAS/2 =100 -but then add a zero to the end 1,000 FPM needed to maintain a 3 degree glideslope 21 nm out. However, that's aggressive in an unpressurized plane, so we started 42 nm out at 500 fpm (1.5 degree glideslope). It's a great trick that works in any aircraft. Hope this explains it well!

Enter the business of brokering planes? There are no legal requirements, but a few things that will take you far: 1. Being a licensed pilot will take you far, a must (in my opinion) in the owner-flown space 2. Transactional knowledge. Work for an established broker for several years to gain this experience, the pitfalls, rules of the road, etc. 3. Operate with integrity Hope this helps.

I’ve owned a Cirrus for years, believe in the cute, yet I’ve entrusted my family’s safety to single engine turbo-props. For the sake of innovation and marketplace competition, I’d love to see a SE turboprop adopt the chute. It makes spouses more comfortable no doubt! Obviously, the Jet has the chute but missing ~500lbs of payload compared to the TBM. Really comes down to mission specifics.
