I agree about doing plastic surgery in the fall bc I don’t want to be sweating in the garment in the summer. I also don’t want to be in pain and in bed in the summer where I will be missing out 6 weeks of summer weather, activities, gardening, trips, walks and nice picnics. That is why I did my BBl and breast augmentations in Nov. by summer, I am ready to show off my body, I can walk, I can do garden, I can travel. I don’t need to wear my garments no more.

Hello Javien, This is a really good question. It depends on how the hernia was repaired (laparoscopic vs open), how big it was, where it was, whether a mesh or other material was used. So there are a lot of factors to consider. But overall, in my opinion it is best to wait about 6 months to allow the tissues enough time to heal and the surrounding scar tissue time to remodel. Your surgeon would also likely check to make sure there is no evidence of a recurrent hernia. The best thing to do is to speak with your surgeon and ask him/her about their recommendations.
