Everyone in the match was just having fun. That pit has been a reoccurring thing in most of the rounds up to that point. Had I heavy attacked on the GB or shield chased, this clip wouldn't exist.

@@Nitro.L Your finisher heavy has a different effect based on the direction! Left heavy finisher will throw them (like Jorm heavy) and it can wallsplat, top heavy finisher is undodgeable, and right heavy finisher is unblockable! (Don't use Left Heavy for parries and punishes unless you can wallsplat, it's the weakest one by far!!) Afeera's shield strike (Move back + GB) can be feinted at nearly any time, leading to easy mixups. If you're far enough away from a target, you will run at them and then shield strike, during the running animation, you can do an Astro-flip to cancel it, along with normal feints! Upon landing a parry, you can use shield strike instantly to turn your punish into a heavy, this can be used for extra dmg if you can wallsplat as well! Astro-flip (the cartwheel flip you see a lot) actually has a ton of recovery, but it makes people panic a lot, so you can bait people into dodge attacking you, then you can parry them! Launching a heavy out of your flip will also catch a lot of people. Keep in mind, this heavy will be very slow, as Afeera's finisher heavies are faster than a non-finisher!

It was only this slow because I showed restraint and didn't end the fight instantly like most would. We did this for multiple rounds by now, and everyone knew by then that everyone was being goofy. Being this negative about the game shows an unwillingness to adapt. Yes, there are OP characters, or annoying characters. Yes, sometimes it doesn't work out at all. Life would be boring if it was an unending series of wins. I was in the same boat as you not long ago, but I changed my mentality away from always winning and what others were doing. If I don't counter something, it's on me for not guessing correct. Fighting games are about prediction. Change your cosmetics, play new characters, change your executes, effects, and emotes. It will make the game feel like it breaks away from the same sense of repeated nature that you're probably used to by now. I even found myself playing the same in every single round as Shinobi, but the character was 10x more enjoyable when I sat down in training and made a new way that nobody else plays. Believe in yourself!

I understand the frustration, but it is kind of in the name of "Dodge Attack". Bait people into dodge attacks and parry them, if you think they will feint, then predict GB, or use a character with undodgeable moves, Orochi, Tiandi, Shaolin, etc. Once you start to counter their dodge moves, they will use them less against you, if they don't, it's an easy win for you

Patience will help so much with this and with R2 fakes. Got to keep them eyes out for tricks and plays 👀

Take this advice just bait people into dodge attack then get free light parry then that’s free heavy and if u play pepole bad enough they will continue to dodge attack

Afeera is definitely annoying, but I have personal gripes with the newly reworked Lawbringer. Shove into guaranteed light, into shove mixup vortex isn't fun at all to fight

Afeera is far from unbalanced. Of all the outlanders, she’s the easiest to counter, predict, and has the weakest toolkit. Outlanders: 1 - Pirate 2 - Medjay 3 - Oceletol 4 - Afeera I’m passionate about this list. Pirate is disgustingly strong, Medjay is balanced but can still be frustrating and has a strong kit, Oce is balanced but on the weaker end, and Afeera is just downright fragile, basic, and counterable. She’s the only shield character that doesn’t have a full guard, her dodge attacks are wildly predictable and easy to parry, and her chains deal tremendously less damage than the other outlanders. If you want unbalanced/broken, look at Pirate, Kyoshin, VG, and gryphon. If you want on the stronger end, look at Orochi, Kensei, Nobushi, all of the wu Lin, Warmonger, BP, Raider, and Shinobi. If you want balanced or on the weaker end, look at everyone else.
