Changing Map Sensor On 2011 Jaguar XJ
I just purchased the husky small ratchet just in case I had to tackle this job in the future! Too bad you didn't have an Amazon affiliate link! lol
Your Jeep looks good Sir !
Much easier to take the front seat loose and remove...that way you only have to remove lower kick panel
You'll be buying a whole new ECM soon with that throttle command aftermarket...😮
Thanks for video. Have you had to change the knock sensors yet?
How to did you get the piece that you broke off out i broke mine as well and can’t figure out how to take it out
A few days ago my mass airflow sensor said a fault on A. I installed a two new MAF A and B. After that the fault on MAF A appeared again. So I switched MAF A and B… again fault on A… a few days later I had a fault on MAP sensor. Now I change the MAP sensor and hope that all faults are solved. Maybe it is the ECU that has a problem… what was the reason for you to look at the MAP sensor? No engine power or did the engine jerk? Thanks for your help
Thanks for the video! Nice Jeep!
I own a 07 JK 3.8 L. It had a stereo amplifier under steering column. Removed the 2 wire connectors in back of it. Removed front bolt. Then slide it out. That opened up area. Had to remove the wire harness fastener from firewall located above pedalal nut. Then was able to get to upper nut. Reinstalled every thing good Prior to this installed, I installed new throttle body. Also replaced wore out 6 wire throttle body connector.
Thank you for that instructional video. This will help when I have to change mine. You can get OEM parts, half as much, from Autozone, and there's a life time warrantee on them. Got my JK about 3.5years ago, and I'm experiencing two problems at this time. I have clicking when I open the door, and I'm pretty sure a wheel speed sensor malfunctioning. I've watched many JK parts videos where this part, and that part goes bad. Just hope my JK doesn't experience all these problems! The Jeep I bought was a Certified Used from a dealer, but you never know how the person took care of the vehicle. I am an avid maintainer on my vehicles, so I hope it doesn't nickel, and dime me to death! Great video. Thanks!
I can tell you with 99% certainty without even hearing the clicking that happens when you open your door that the faulty part causing the issue (clicking) is an actuator within the HVAC system. There is an actuator at the blend door where air is either pulled from outside or inside on the passenger side and either one or two more that correspond to different HVAC settings. The actuator is broken and cannot spin its plastic gears but continues to try which causes the clicking noise. The actuators are “actuated” or “turned on” before the key is ever inserted in the ignition and attempts to calibrate its position. You may sometimes hear the clicking after driving and turning the ignition off, shutting the doors but staying inside, and waiting for 15 minutes or so. If the light on the defrost knob blinks after firing the Jeep up and the HVAC is turned on but does nothing while the light blinks, I change from 99% certainty to 100% certainty this is the diagnosis. Good luck!
Pull this un helpful video down its useless
And neglected to tell everyone oh by the way it didnt do it 😂a teacher your not
People 😂 he makes it look like he handled the issue by doing this lmao he didnt do shit but make a bigger more expensive mess wth
Lol how did you dig out the gasket The same exact thing happened to me Now I’m struggling to get it out
Thanks that helps me out with my wife’s Jeep been casing this down for weeks . Never got a real answer from any one know I know . Thanks again .
Great job 👏
Throttle pedal position sensor e & d for jeep jk was the code
Just happened to my jeep code said sensor d & e???what did your check engine read
My jeep failed to relearn after replacing pedal sensor. Now just parked in the backyard not sure what to do with it
Take it to a dealer. They have the scan tool that can perform the accelerator pedal position sensor relearn and make it idle correctly
Great video. Only one small feedback for you. The “code” (2 sec on 10 sec off) thing…. You don’t start the engine. You turn key to the “on position” 2 sec the off 10 sec. Then key to “on position” then off 10 sec. Then turn to “on position” for 3 seconds and immediately fully depress pedal 5 times in 5 seconds then wait 7 seconds and then press gas pedal down fully for 20 seconds or until check engine light STOPS flashing/blinking. Then crank the engine and verify it’s idling properly.
Hi on the comander did that fix your problem? Please let me know driving me crazy
Yes it did
Great video. Very helpful. This part is $120. Did your Jeep go into limp mode?
Yes it did
I just replaced mine and I also had a throttle controller and was thinking the same thing. It was a real pain to get to the top nut. Video was helpful. Thanks!
Had the p0106 code ? I been having the code for a while now my car is idling rough but engine light is not flashing I was wondering if same thing happened
You can try cleaning them too my car is doing the same thing I prefer to change it because you can get it on eBay for $118 AutoZone have it for $88 for the map sensor
You didn't show how you ran your wires
You dear Sir are the real MVP
Did you have to calibrate anything with that gas pedal
Nope
@@psychotik7431 that's a bold faced lie. You replace the pedal position sensor, or the throttle body and you have to perform the relearn or the engine will idle at about 3k rpm.
Well done. Could not find any video on Jaguar regarding this issue.
Hey. Buddy the new pedal fix your issue with your jk , because I am having the same problem, I also got the jeep commander I was think it’s was the pedal commander. Please let me know
Same thing here. Replaced the throttle body twice, had the dealer relearn procedure done, and now I'm just gonna throw a pedal at it as well as my wallet I guess. Hope it fixes it finally.
im having the same issue to right now, and have a commander, which some are saying is the issue
Yes. It fixed the issue and I didn’t put the throttle responder back on.
My check engine light keeps coming on and off and the code says to replace MAP sensor. Thanks for the video now I can save some money. Very helpful!!
Thank you for this video!! Thought it was going to be something much more technical lol
Thanks a lot.
Thanks for the video - I have a 2015 xf - and my check engine light comes on once in a while I use blue drive odbc tool and I get too lean on bank 1 (last time I got too lean on bank 1 and 2). I thought it was my gas cap because that is a PIA. But it came back. Do you think it is the MAP or the MAS ?
Whats up bro my engine light came on and it says map sensor are you sayn i have to change multiple sensor?
Thank you !!! very helpful !!!
I used air flow mass cleaner on my sensor and worked wonders
Yeah I tried cleaning it didn't work but once I swap with a new one drives like a dream
Did the check engine light reset on it's own after replacing the MAP sensor? Thanks...Mike
I didn’t have a issue with the light coming on. The engine was running a little ruff. Come to find out after I changed one side I still had that problem. I took it to the dealer and they told me you have to change both sides at the same time. I had to purchase 2 more and let them install and hook it up to there computer to get my care running correctly again.
What kind of problems did you have? Misfires?
It was running a little ruff.
Thanks...hard to find info on this engine
