I played this game with the actual arcade machine, but the graphics were just too dark when I tried going through that shortcut you used, and I couldn’t see clearly. But hey, I’ll gladly take 2nd place for now🥈 Also, I used the banshee, is there any difference in speed between the boats?
Egyptian police boat at the beginning if there were one: انتباه، سائق القارب المتهور! اسحب سيارتك وأطفئ محركاتك واستعد للبحث! Boat Pilot: Hey, who invited these guys?
Rad Hazard! Finally! Everyone else uses the stupid boats like tinytanic and chumslinger. Why they were even added to the game is beyond my understanding.
Back when my local arcade had hydro thunder, I’d always race Arctic Circle first to get the free game. The shortcuts make it an easy free game lol. Miss playing this game with a real cabinet. Nothing like it
Amazing run. I used to like the axe-blade boat on the sit-down / arcade version in dash-cam mode. Had the Hydro Jump mastered. Loved grinding on the ceiling of the giant empty hulk at the end. Well done!
Get 1st on Hyrdo Speedway to earn. And you get hydro speedway by getting first on Nile Adventure, which you earn by getting 1st on the 3 hard tracks before it
@@n7cartmangh897 Yeah, I looked up some info about it afterwards and found out the Midway Arcade Treasures version is a bit different to the Eurocom standalone port.
Very different, brighter lightsourcing. The PC version (I have it) is a direct port from coin-op and thus looks identical - darker tunnels and hidden areas.
@@MrThunderwing Yeah, everything. Even the physics is identical, although there was an adjustment period for me... until recently the last time I played HT was over 20 years ago, sit-down coin-op with a steering wheel and manual throttle. Now I use keyboard controls.
Had the game on the PS1 and the AI were much more reasonable. I know for the arcade cabinets, you can adjust the AI difficulty in the service menu. But only the arcade owners can tamper with that. And I’m sure they liked the AI set to be annoyingly difficult on purpose. But to me that’s part of the original authenticity. If you use the shortcuts and drive well you can still get 1st anyways
@@MisterVolts does it run multiplayer with splitscreen? if yes, what emulator do you use? I just found one that has serious graphic issues and turns black on splitscreen.
@@MisterVolts it was made for arcade and console. the pc port was a byproduct. but a splitscreen was pretty common back in the days. the pc version had no mp at all. :( I discovered it a few days ago on abandonware website and was instant addicted since i played it with my brother 25 Years ago on the original arcade setup with the chair and throttle 🤣
I think you jump by slowing down and then speeding up while pressing the boost button at the same time. The arcade machine had a speed regulator with a button on it for boost. Down was slow, up was fast. When you pull down then up while pushing boost, you will do a jump.

Skills!👏
I get the EXACT same time and still only come in third place this game is rigged
This is in Utah and Arizona.
This is Southeast Europe. 🇬🇷
Tidal blade is the fastest in the game even after being a medium mode ship
Oh, the nostalgia. What I’d give to play this one more time
Apparently not the first to say you missed one of the biggest shortcuts on the map, right near the start...
I wish Mario Kart had a stage like this. I want this stage in Mario Kart 9
Egyptian police boat at the beginning if there were one: انتباه، سائق القارب المتهور! اسحب سيارتك وأطفئ محركاتك واستعد للبحث! Boat Pilot: Hey, who invited these guys?
How you jump in this game I beat the game along time ago with out jumping I didn't even no you can jump
Hold the brake and hit turbo. Hold the gas the entire time. Don't click these buttons. Hold.
1:59 you missed the hidden 9 sec boost by jumping the swinging banshee
Clearly the cpu's were pittying you because ive done everything right and cant win

How can you call this all shortcuts when you missed 2 major ones here lol
thanks, this one is doing my head in! 😅
Thought I knew all the shortcuts in the game. 0:34 *shocked pikachu face*
Nice thanks for the competition video my dude.

Am I the only one that thinks this thing sounds like a vacuum cleaner?
How do you get this track?

Your such an agresive racer nothing technical but it gets the job done
Says shortcuts. Doesn't take any
Perhaps watch at .25x playback speed, you may better be able to see the 4 shortcuts and 1 invisible boost taken. Thanks for watching!
You missed the very first one on the right
What are you playing this on Brian? There's a few details on the track that look different to the Dreamcast and PC versions I've played.
Looks like midway arcade treasures

At 0:54, if you go between the last pair of columns, you'll get a 4 second boost.
I hate the AI in this game. I got a faster time than you and yet third place. Nice job on the long shortcut in the last half!

In the coin-op version's console, it was labeled "ketchup (catch-up) mode". You could only disable it with an SLC-500. 😡
How do you jump please tell our
Press break, and boost at the same time
You missed the shortcut where you jump through the window at the end
Useless! It's a 90° turn like 20 feet from the window. Although I appreciate the post, this and Lake Powell are stupid levels that I detest.
0:18 here is a tunnel straight ahead. You have to super start and when you get close enough to the tunnel, jump
You missed a secret tunnel
Plus, the sound that the boost icons make when collected don't sound so compressed
I want Arctic Circle as a Smash Ultimate DLC stage.
How to Jump My Friends??? Note : Not from the Start
I’ve been seeing combos. Reverse + boost for the version I played.
is this run on emulation and if so at 60 fps, 30? or is this original hardware. I am just curious
This is the Windows port, released in 2001.
@@Pikmin012 where can I find the port to download hydro? I got it on Xbox but thats like 10 frames, it was really bad.
@@kamabokogonpach1ro you can find it on internet archive just type in hydro thunder
I didn't know the first shortcut. Nice!
theres another shortcut at the beginning but that 2nd shortcut that you did i never found
I don't think there is an other. I watched a lot of video on this race
I want such graphics
