All of the AJPW games SEGA put out are stellar aswell. AJPW 1 on Saturn is excellent. 2 is a good game. And 3........ might just be the best pure wrestling game ever made. You actually have to build slowly and put on good matches. You need to have a certain number of fans to progress the game. It forces you to pick and choose your spots and when to take a beating. It's hard to put into words. But SEGA captured the essence of AJPW like no one else. As much as I love Virtual Pro Wrestling 1 and 2..... SEGA has the most underrated series of wrestling games ever made.

AJPW is sick. 70's is alright. 80's got even better. 90's? Some of THE best wrestling ever to be witnessed. Mid to late 90's especially. Crazy dangerous moves, stiff punches and kicks. It was great until 2001.... when Stan Hansen retires. It's still somewhat good after. Because guys like RVD and Sabu show up. But 90's AJPW is unmatched. Every match has a big fight feel. My favorite wrestlers from AJPW are Dr.Death, Stan Hansen, Bruiser Brody, Kenta Kobashi, Kawada, Mitsuharu Misawa, Masonobu Fujii, Jumbo Tsuruta, The Great Kabuki, Akira Taue, Jun Akiyama, Terry Gordy, and Vader. You will find that AJPW has a level of prestige to it not found anywhere else. It's hard to explain. But I feel it is wrestling in it's purest form.

No mercy was such an amazing game. Only downside was being on the n64 with its poorly designed controller. A gem that is lost to time. And the story mode was fantastic. I wish newer games has a similar setup.
