He actually took off running when he was about 2 hours old, running from mama. He is kinda a stinker.

I think we are settling on RRR Storm’s A’Brewin. We will call him Storm. Our county/area had flooding storms last week, so much so that our lake went from 17 feet low to 1” high. Lots of cattle, deer and some other livestock washed downstream. In Waco, 200 ostrich were washed away and they are still finding them running around. Yesterday and today we are under tornado watches and we are having a thunderstorm right now. He also doesn’t listen to his mom or aunties very well, and takes off running (at only 2 hours old), so the name seems to fit.

I have never had a garden this nice before. Alpaca poo is gold!

That’s awesome! We had 12 regulars last year. I read that they live 5 years, but can live to 10 and will come back year after year (with offspring) as long as they have food.

@@TripleRAlpacaranch It's like they can tell the others they meet where we live, and they bring back more tourists. It's kind of a nightmare, really. But it's a blessing in its own way.

They are crias. Kawa is the Apache word for great, and Culutiwa is the Cochita word for Bluebird, the male child of the Sun. When he was being born, a bluebird landed in the tree above his mom and stayed until he arrived. We rarely see bluebirds here, so it was the perfect name.

They really are gentle. They are handled frequently and are calm and calming to be around. I often go and sit in the pasture with them. My boys are a little more unpredictable because of hormones, but the girls are pretty chill.
