I, too, normally love Lorraine Heath. But I found the Sins for all Seasons series quite lacking and a bit too similar and rather forgettable in general. But my favourite one out of the 6 was When a Duke Loves a Woman.

Hello Crystal, thank you for the recommendations. I always like you 5 stars, similar taste. I just finished Priestess by Kara Reynolds, best romance slow burn romance that I have read in a long time. I strongly recommend it.

I want the hero and the heroine to fight for their love! I want yearning, I want angst, I want a broody hero! I want Mr Thornton, I want Colonel Brandon and Captain Wentworth! I even want Wickham! (ok, listen, before you judge me... in the miniseries "Death Comes to Pemberley" you would have ran away with Wickham, YOU WOULD, trust me, he's Matthew Goode). Why can't we have that anymore?

Kit McBride was absolutely a Hallmark Movie. As an HR, I was very let down. But I knew the audio would have probably made for a better experience. Definitely comedic and fun.

Beyond Scandal and Desire was the weakest book for me in that series. I didn't continue the series for months after that one. Hopefully you like some of the other ones. :)

I'm so happy Hexed was good! I've seen great improvement in her writing as I've been reading her for a few years. I'm so annoyed that I haven't read this one yet. But it is on my TBR for Jan. We shall see.

I'm finishing up the Class Apart trilogy for the readathon. I better get my HEA after the suffering. haha!

Hello Crystal^^. I tried reading One Dark Windows the previous time you were reading it and I dnf'd it after a few chapters. I thought it was weak on the fantastical level with the whole 'card seeing' I found rather ...off and not in any fun way. The characterization was very juvenile for the few chapters and I just could not imagine a 'mature' (i.e. not feisty) romance developing. I've been busy with school so have been watching booktube very passively. Hope to be more engaged soon❤

Crystal, I’m currently reading Drinker of ink since you recommended it and I think you should check out Maestro by Auden Dar. You may like it, they have similar epic love story feel about it with angst.

When you say Lisa Kleypas and it's your favorite.....it's an immediate buy! If it's at the level of Again the Magic. I can't wait!

Please try reading Lynn Kurland! An older author but her books are so good. She has a lovely Fantasy romance series... as well as hostorical and medieval romance with some fantastical element in some of her books.

I will be participating in the Readathon I don’t know about prompts or anything. I just wanna try to get into reading more historical romance because it is a genre that I am interested in. I’ve read a few but not a whole lot.

I am reading A Tempest of Desiree by Lorraine.Heath right now.I am half finished.It is great. I always love Lorraine Heath.

I just started the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs. I just finished Moon Called and I thought it was a great audiobook. It kept me engaged in the story. Now I’m going to listen to the 2nd book Blood Bound. I am not a huge fantasy reader, it all depends on the type of fantasy for me. I enjoy paranormal/urban fantasy more than other types of fantasy. I also want to get through some historical romances this month as well.

I can't wait to read Remember When by Mary Balogh and Etiquette of love by Minerva Spencer.

Juliet Marillier has a new book, first of a new series, coming soon! I've asked the publisher if it will be available worldwide, as her new publisher is Australian, and I don't think it will be easy to get a copy what with shipping, customs and blablabla... so I'm hoping TOR or Del Rey or any US/UK based publisher buys the rights to publish the book in those countries (Blackwell's in the UK has free shipping/no customs policies)

I loved Empire of the Damned which is just as good as Book 1. I really enjoyed The Eyes are the Best Part.

Oh I’m excited to see what you think of the Janny Wurst book. She co-wrote Daughter of the Empire and it’s been on the tbr for almost a year. I’m hoping to read it in 2025.
