original video had no music. For a man who loved music so much, it didn't seem right that there was none. Music has been added now.....

Opened for Wayne @ The Granary in Edwardsville, Ill 1972 and he brought the house down. Charlie Brent was with him then.
Lenny this is Maggie Mayall. I just needed to hear this today. Love you man.
Sadly, Lenny passed away a several years ago
@@drumncook Fuck. I'm so sorry.
Do you have any recordings of any other songs from the concert on this song ( ruclips.net/video/LLLRtVOE5-g/видео.htmlsi=jIk00Jhcrb-3MLBw ) if so I’d like to hear them. I remember Tim Bales posted a another song from that same concert on sound cloud but has since deleted it. He said it was in Lafayette during the 80’s and I remember Bob gable, Allyn, and Charles were some of the performers.
I SO MISS THE POWERHOUSE THAT WAS BIG LUTHER-AND THIS INCREDIBLE GATHERING OF GREAT PLAYERS...
Miss that incredible voice Janet!
I will never forget the first time I heard Luther when he played at The Absinthe bar and I played in the middle of the 400 block of Bourbon. I had never heard a band like that or a voice like that. So many cats in that band are gone. It makes me so sad. What an honor to know Luther, his music and to get to play with him for so many years. Rest in peace my friend. - Sally Townes
Thank you❤
Thanks Allyn. Finally can listen to this again. Will you send.Long,Long Day through You are the only one who has it My phone got drowned in a sink so I had to replace it and changed everuthing.

504!
I had the privilege of playing with wardell smith… the saxophonist in this clip…he is the most humble musical genius ive ever met!
RIP Luther.
Outstanding singer great song
We lost Luther today 😢 Rest in peace brother...
RIP Brother
R.I.P. Luther 8/16/24
Luther's death was announced today. What a voice and a presence. I'm going to miss him.
So very sad to hear Luther died today 8/16/24. I’m from Baton Rouge and have seen him so many times throughout the years and he was larger than life with a voice that touched my soul. Rest easy Big Luther⚜️💔
❤ Hugs my friend 💔
RIP
I'm devastated. Been seeing Luther perform for over 50 years. Can't believe I won't see him at Jazzfest next year. 😪
What key?
I am so proud of Luther. He is a great performer. He sounds better than ever.
A great vocalist, iconic and classical.
Jacos note placement was perfect even this early on.
it's TOday I Started Loving You Again. A bold idea taking on the Hag :)
she has such a great voice...i am picturing a jazz club in New York with Janet in an evening dress gently leaning on the piano giving everyone her songbird voice... remarkable....
❤😂🎉
are you still jammin my brother? this is killer...more good stuff please..i would like to do a cover of this with my wife....credits given of course
My private chef career has taken over my music. I play about 4 times a year
@@drumncook must seem good to do it when you can! i can't live without music man...
@@jimburdin I've been playing music for a living since I was 16. I'm 73 now. I still love music but lost the love for gigging. Check out my RUclips channel. I have a great collection of music from over the years.
@@drumncook will do brother
Just saw big Lu at jazz fest April 26, 2024. Sounded great has lost 30 or so pounds since I last see big Lu 2 years ago
The arrangement is unique.
That IS A BAND .
Met him and Jaco at Michael and Tony's Tampa
Does anyone know the chord that the guitarist is playing?
So soulful!
Where did you get this video? I’ve got the full performance on Vimeo, but it sounds a lot worse and has audio and video problems.
ANYONE HEAR ANYTHING ABOUT LUTHER KENT LATELY? Two of his closest buddies have lost contact with him in the last 3 weeks. 12/22/23
Hello...its now 2023 and I have a 1972 version of this song recorded in Des Moines Iowa at the (now demolished) 505 Club. Jaco stayed at our house during the engagement.
please post it!! that would be awesome to hear
All I can hear is this bass dancing.
Oh poppet how could you be this good so young. Poor you.
Bloody hell it’s like the Holy Grail, the search for the Bass Line. Here you feel like you’re getting close.
Janet personifies the best of New Orleans artists. This is the most classic version I've ever heard of "Misty Blue." I've watched her grow as an artist from a very young girl to a mature musical icon. Janet used to be in band with my brother-in-law, a talented drummer and vocalist, Philip Welker. God Bless You Janet.

@@janetlynn4028 Thank you for your kind response, Janet. Barbara and I have always enjoyed your music. I still have R2R tapes of you and Philip from The Bounty and other places. I transferred them to digital disks and play them often. I sent a copy of some songs to Philip's daughter. And now her granddaughter also has a copy. The sound quality isn't pristine, but your single vocals and duets are awesome to me. My precious Barbara Ann died almost three years ago. She always spoke fondly of you. God Bless You. Be healthy. Stay safe. _ Tony
So sorry for your loss. I don't remember anyone taping at the bounty. Such a long time ago. Would love to hear them. Miss those days. Good times. @@AnthonySanchez-jg3ph
@@janetlynn4028 Thank you for your reply, Janet. Philip (RIP) used to have me reel-to-reel tape some of the shows at various clubs on the east and west banks. I also have a WNOE tape Philip gave me when he was with Harvey Jesus. Barbara and I used to go to "Fat City" for some "gigs." Be healthy, happy, successful, blessed, loved and safe always.
Is that Jaco in the picture ? behind the guy on the left.
No, that is Charles Brent on guitar. This was after Jaco
@@drumncook Naw , Thats Jaco next to guitar player , he's playing a bass.
@@TheConduit10 sorry, but no! That is David Lee Watson on bass. This is after Jaco. I was on the band playing drums with Jaco and then David. So I know who's in the picture. David is also the bass player on this audio.
@@drumncookOK man , I thought I could see a Fenda headstock , anyway man you definitely own a little corner of Music History , 'Do you like the sound of the music ' is my favourite.
@@TheConduit10you are right about the headstock. It's one of Jaco's bases, he sold it to David. Check out my channel for other music with Jaco.
Bloody hell what a player.
Yeah ! and just 21 at the time but playing like a seasoned veteran. RIP Jaco
God what a band. What are those lines JP is playing? It’s just bonkers stuff.
Jaco reallywas a punker. Glad we all know this today
Thats my uncle charlie!!! -Justin Skelton
Such a good song
Man, I'm sorry I missed Big Johnny. I don't even know who comes close to this in 2023..
Love the song!
Do you have any videos with you and Lenny? The bass player I met out in LA with you?
