    I know this tradition inspires young women and offers them an opportunity to dance, but I just feel like it’s for all the wrong reasons. Not only do they not receive great pay (I make more as a customer service worker), but they continue to uphold outdated beauty standards and values. Empowering women is essential, but the higher-ups in this industry left a sour taste in my mouth. I can’t imagine the mental strain and turmoil these young women face, especially with the amount of pressure they're under. Their experiences, techniques, and knowledge are powerful enough.

    So glad I ran across your channel because we have the some of the same viewpoints. I was a huge fan of Making the Team and was devastated when they cancelled it. This series seemed too polite. If that makes sense. I wanted to hear more of the women's viewpoints on how this affects their health, wage gap, the rules they have to follow, diversity, etc. I feel like they barely even touched on the safety aspect and how there are some real psychos out there! I was so scared for Kelce and Kat!! Because the fact that ppl went to great lengths to find out their address is terrifying!! I was extremely annoyed by Reece. I felt she had no personality. Don't get me wrong having a strong relationship with your higher power is important, but I don't think it should be your entire personality. I think the fact they spent so much time on her was on purpose and they pushed an agenda. I would have liked to hear more about how the girl who's dad committed suicide is doing and how has she been coping, mental health, etc. So much stories they could have showed, but they chose not to. I haven't been seeing positive press on this show, so we shall see if they get a 2nd season. Thanks for your video ❤

      Culture, traditions, in hopes to make a name for themselves and booster their careers, for love to the sport (cheerleading), you name it... It's not easy for cheerleaders to be taken seriously as athletes in a world dominated by physical-contact male's sports.

  • @KristineElizabethKraycer
    @KristineElizabethKraycer 17 дней назад

    They made this to show more of the lives of the cheerleaders. Their boyfriends, husbands, family, careers, etc. The health issues they have. Victoria is the saddest story imo. You can really see her mental health has declined alot. I am glad she moved to NYC to live her life. She has a youtube channel now. I wish nothing but the best for her. I also feel like the girls do it to belong to a group. No one in their right mind does this for a career or good money. They went from making $15 a game to around $500. In arguably the biggest scandal to rock the DCC, in 2015, four unnamed cheerleaders were paid $2.4 million USD, after they accused a senior male executive of filming them as they undressed in their locker room. Each of the women received $399,523.27 after the incident. One of the cheerleaders alleged that she clearly saw Richard Dalrymple, the Cowboys' longtime senior vice president for public relations and communications, standing behind a partial wall in their locker room with his iPhone extended toward them while they were changing their clothes, according to several people with knowledge of the events and letters later sent by attorneys for the cheerleaders to the team. Dalrymple gained entry to the back door of the cheerleaders' locked dressing room by using a security key card. Dalrymple also was accused by a lifelong Cowboys fan of taking "upskirt" photos of Charlotte Jones Anderson, a team senior vice president and the daughter of team owner Jerry Jones, in the Cowboys' war room during the 2015 NFL draft, according to documents obtained by ESPN and interviews. The fan signed an affidavit that he was watching a livestream of the war room on the team's website when he said he saw the alleged incident.

    I watched the first 15 minutes and it's more than enough for me. When I heard the owner lady saying "Well, they don't make a lot of money but it's the prestige they dance for" or sth along those lines, I knew it was too much for me. Like, I'm from Poland, I don't know much about American football, but even I know that it's a multi-million business where the players make a shit ton of money. Not paying their fellow athletes decent wages is beyond ridiculous. And why would those women want to do this is beyond me as well.

    So the good about this documentary: I love how the girls were “sisters “ and stuck together and comforted each other through the stress and the cuts. It made me love fall and football season. I always loved watching the holiday specials and superbowl so that part brought a smile to my face. The bad: I hated how Kelly and the other lady picked the girls apart who got cut. “Too short, too skinny,you’ve gained weight, not enough makeup, too much makeup, I hate her hair, etc” it honestly triggered me especially the girl that was cut for being too short and how she broke down crying 😢💔 Also it made me uncomfortable watching them try on their DCC uniform. Like they said “it has to fit just right, the boobs have to sit right, you can’t have a muffin top” 😬 The bittersweet part: like you said the older former DCC members showing up just reminds you that nothing lasts forever and we all definitely age God willing. They were so sweet and cute reliving their glory days.
