excellent
12.3 volts and 24 volts. The 24 for the live scope although I will try the 12 first to see if it makes any difference
Sorry, I meant what is the maximum current they can provide?
Nice video Tom, what power output will you get from the two converters?
Nice video Tom. You might get interference on your fishfinder using the same power source for the bowmount, that's often the case, although as you're stepping the voltage down that might make a difference. I'm using a Victron Orion-Tr DC/DC converter to do the same thing, it has an IP43 rating. Good luck with the installation, it's good to see more and more people entering the 21st century 🙂
Done little reading on the interference issue, It seen any feed back on that issue. A lot of lads fit there live scope to the kraken arm, if there was to be a problem I would have thought thats were it would show up. But thanks I will keep an eye out
@@kkazzsell8488 I think the problem comes about due to the way that power is delivered to the motor. I don't know about the Kraken but the Minn Kota uses a thyristor, which sends pulses of power rather than a steady current. Each pulse diverts a bit of power away from the fishfinder, and so causes the interference. Using a converter, as you are doing, may well smooth out that interference, I guess time will tell. I was also getting interference because my power cable to my motor ran alongside my transducer cable. I got round this by having the power cable diverted along the port side while the transducer cable runs along the starboard side. What battery did you go for?
@ 36 v lithium..it’s very heavy..I have never experienced any issue with the cables running from the transducer at the stern, is yours self deployed?
@@kkazzsell8488 Yes, Terrova. It's Eric Edwards What make is your battery?
Li gen Ltd 36 volt Life po4
Well done Tom
Really looking forward to watching this installation series Tom , I’ve been considering the same unit for my Pro Angler for a while now, I’ve a friend who has a Minn Kota fitted to his 175 and they really are a game changer, I’m sure you’ll do a great job of it so good luck with the project 🎣🎣👍
Nearly ready to go with installation. The warrier boat area little easier to do as the bow section is flat. When it is fitted more then welcome to try it out. I am sure there will be teething issues. Removing the second battery, the ancillary and the anchor does give me room for thought.
Cracking mate, enjoyed watching them swimming into your bait!
I love this technique. But many of the places where I am forced to anchor....are marine parks in small harbors with other boats around. I am concerned that this would require a lot of room to make it work..
Glad I watched right to the end as I was going to ask where you had the anchor warp tied off while steaming away from the buoy. Good video, cheers 🤙🏼
Cracking videos , is dashers den worth a shout with soft plastic lures
As you can see from the video it’s a great shop that has everything you would ever need.
Great vlog, love luce bay, hopefully visiting from 5th
Great video. thanks for sharing it. Found it very very helpful and explained it perfectly.
Looking for some advice was fishing near the yellow buoy nearest sand head for tope in my sib and hooked into some kind of flatfish I couldn’t get it off the bottom and snapped 40 lb braid like thread about 30 seconds into the fight any ideas what this could have been I’ve never felt anything as heavy in my life fishing
Hi John Just wondering how you knew it was a flatfish…. Did you see it at all, to be able to give a description? The only logical thing I can think of is a common skate. However, we have not heard of any coming from the shallows around the buoy.
@@mullofgallowayseaanglingfe3878 I never seen it ,but it was stuck to the bottom in only a way a flatfish can ,I’m a fit strong healthy guy and it was pulling harder than I was , skate did cross my mind but as you say unheard of in the area I was fishing but in my 30 years of fishing never felt anything close to what that felt like power wise
@@Johnpir8978best guess would be a common skate…. Might be a good idea to tackle up for them and target them 👍🏻🎣
@@mullofgallowayseaanglingfe3878 100 lb line and new reel already ordered cheers for getting back to me it’s appreciated
@@Johnpir8978we look forward to seeing the report….. tight lines
Fantastic video. I do it this way after watching it the only difference is I do put the buoy, alderney ring and triangle out first but love your method. I know others who use pulleys etc and it looks so complicated. Your method is good, simple and it works. You make it straight forward and interesting to watch. Thanks for this
Love the underwater footage!
Well done guys, lost like the weather was good to you and you hooked a good few species👍
Great set up 😊
Great underwater footage, well done 👍
Very helpfull thanks a lot! Ciao
This was exactly what I needed 👌👌👌
Very good. My hometown tackle shop. Been going since a young lad. The area always requires a tackle shop. Still attend even though I live in Glasgow now. Good luck to everyone.
Errrm errrm very nice Fitzy
Will pop in next time I’m in the area, keep up the great work 👍
Great Shop and well worth a visit 🎣👍
Really helpful video, thanks for posting 👍🏻
Very simple easy to understand video covering the whole procedure. Brilliant. Thank you
I went to lady bay earlier this year and it looks like someone is trying to stop vehicles from going down as there were signs stating PRIVATE ROAD🤔
Thanks for the effort making the video
Great video 👍🏼🎣 well done everyone involved
Thanks that was a really informative video Appreciate it 👍👍👍
How thick in mm is your green line?

@@mullofgallowayseaanglingfe3878 Thank you.
What about emergency release for the anchor?
Thanks for the suggestion, we will look to do something on this 👍🏻
Very interesting being able to see the way the fish “perch” on their pectorals. Adds to our understanding of how these fish move about
Fantastic footage
Great video guys, so I guess the mackerel are in, macky bashers won’t be far behind lol
Good stuff Kev / MOGSAF, I was watching you out there.
Getting my boat shortly .will be rigging my anchor like that now ive seen how its done. Thanks
Great video, really informative and easy to follow
great idea this, need this info more for differant areas. well done.
Great video and well explained nice job
Excellent video. Extremely helpful. Thank you Tom for doing this. This probably solves why I have started to loose depth on monitor when motoring? Will check level whin next launched. 🎣🎣
Could you recommend any Rock marks for Tope around the Mull. Was thinking of trying round from the lighthouse on the Luce bay side of the Mull.
Yes there’s a few shore marks for tope, many fish north of the lighthouse on the eastern side of the peninsula….. Join the South West Scotland Sea Anglers Facebook page, plenty of experienced anglers could also offer advice 👍🏻🎣
@@mullofgallowayseaanglingfe3878 Thanks mate that's a great help. I'll give it a go.
Is March to early for the Tope coming in? Was just thinking of the cool weather at the minute. If no Tope is there a chance of Huss and Conger this time of year? Coming up in a couple of weeks.
@@mawky1 yes, it is a bit early for tope….. normally the first week of may is when they appear. There’s a chance of the odd conger and possible Huss
Thanks mate. Oh well I'll still give it a try - I won't catch anything sat on the Sofa 😄. Been watching more of your videos this morning - nice Tope you had that won you a good prize back in 2018. Hopefully there'll be a Rogue Tope lurking around where I'm fishing.
Cracking video and a cracking tune by Bob.
Very clear demonstration and well done video. Thanks 👍
Hi Is it allowed to use the old sailing club slip before kircolm?I was told in sports shop a few years ago they won't allow it but it looks almost derelict now(the club house) Thanks
Nice video & pic's but that music!!!! Just my opinion but I think you'd do better to leave out the music!
A great vid lads
Great video well done guys
Stuck at it lads!
