She's definitely looking at him like she thinks he's going to kiss her, and she wants him to kiss her, and then he lays her out like Ali and Frazier. Or perhaps Tyson and nearly anyone else. He blindsides her, because she's already head over heels, and he kind of is too, but she knows that she can't act on it, because it's a dangerous move and the change in her judgment puts his life at risk. She, however, takes solace in the fact that she can be close to him in their fake 'show' relationship, which is enough for her to this point. She thinks its better than not being into the asset, and that might make it more work on her part. He throws a grenade at her, and she just stands there dumbfounded. But, it eventually works itself out. That smile when she says, 'What?' shows her denial of what she has just heard. It shows how hurt she is and how unexpected this move by Chuck really is. She had no idea this could be coming. That's the reason for the conversation with Casey. To tell the audience, in case they were confused, that she's really into him, and she's pushing him away out of her sense of duty, and following her training, rather than her heart.

"Please leave Casey alone." Famous last words.

It always struck me as odd that Carina figured out that it actually was real for Sarah when she first met Chuck, but Casey didn't figure it out til later in season 1.

Just the look she gives him, she already knew she was in love with him. It's why she got so mad at him during the argument about THE KISS. And she leans ever so slightly towards him, when Jeff holds the mistletoe above their heads. She definitely wanted him to kiss her.

But this contradicts Corinna's first appearance. After the two of them fight, it's implied that Sarah and Corinna are just cover names for their particular assignments, which makes much more sense

It's amazing how much her opinion of Morgan changed over time. In Chuck Versus the Balcony, it's evident she is actually touched by Morgan giving her his permission to marry Chuck 😉

I think for Sarah, his question later on about whether or not the kiss was about him, was actually worse than his refusal to run away with her in Prague.

IMO this was the first of 3 episodes that turned her 'really like' Chuck into 'love'. The first scene with her dad he is putting his coat on her to keep her warm. This scene she asks about the money and he tells her that HE trusts chuck. Then we have the dad telling Chuck to take care of her. And the final piece is Chuck putting HIS jacket on her to keep her warm - a full transition from her dad taking care of her to Chuck doing it effectively with her dad's blessing. The other 2 episode to me were the next episode with the bracelet (chuck vs santa) and the 3rd one was the "best friend" one. This one got her going, the Christmas put a lock on it, the Best friend threw away the key. :)
