A few more things, when I was an LEO, I took a lot of fake check calls. Always check the font of all the printing. Many times one particular area, usually the amount, is a different font than the rest. Along with the signature font as well.. make sure it all matches! And, you can always call the bank and verify funds. It may take a few minutes, but it’s better than getting stiffed with a bad check. 👍🏻👍🏻 Have a great night ! Steve.

When it comes to excessive amounts of vinyl, I can relate. When my mom passed in 2018, she had tons of vinyl. Not nearly as much as this instance, but a very large amount! I took the collection to two different record buying stores and they bought absolutely zero! Not even “dark side of the moon”😳😳😳. Really blew me away! Hope you guys did OK in the hurricane! Although we aren’t on the ocean here , we get tornados , devastating hail storms , forest and prairie fires , extreme snowstorms , nasty heat waves . These never happen without consequences . And this is sad to say , but after natural disasters , junk removal businesses become busy . Not all people have the resources to clean up the property damage themselves . Do you ever rent dumpsters for your house cleanouts? That's pretty much the only way I can do house cleanouts. First one I ever did when I started in January, I had to make 16 trips to the dump. Every cleanout after has been dumpsters.

I have a scrap yard on the other side of a highway from me that is about 5 minutes away. There is never a line. I had a refrigerator earlier so on the way home, drove over the scales, dumped it, drove back over the scales and came right home... 3 minutes. We take things straight to the scrap yard. There are a few things I will part out but not things most people part out. I have guys that will buy specific things off of certain things.

Great discussion about starting and managing a small business. Wish I’d have received this kind of advice 40 years ago. I always hated selling my services to people even though I knew my trade and knew it was a good value. There’s just something about the sales side I never enjoyed.

Have a memory foam king mattress that has to be over 75lbs. Needed my wife to help carry it was so wide. The mover we hired to move in with did a spread eagle move and did it himself up 4 flights without his helper. I was in shock, he also had a prison record but was friendly ahahaha.

That curb ramp is ideal for removing a heavy refrigerator through the living room doorway where there's a tile floor drop off. I remember a lot of claims delivering for Sears where the dolly wheels would crack the corner of the tile. I will be buying one.

It is a shame about hutches . Here, we end up taking most of them to a thrift store that sells them for around 125.00 Canadian dollars. There’s been some that cost in the thousands to buy them. How late in the day do you have caffeine ? If I have coffee past 1:00 pm, my sleep is terrible . Often I take zinc with copper before I go to bed . I sleep like a baby then . With zinc you can get a copper deficiency . So you need to watch that . Sometimes we put our garbage out that we collect for city pick up . Better than dump fees . If it’s extra that doesn’t fit in the bin , it’s 3.00 per bag . If we get clean wood ( not treated ) we burn it in our fire pit .And yes we put out free stuff . It always disappears . Never had anything not taken.😊

Hey Chris. So about the dump trailer getting stuck. Couple things. Certain dump trailers dont tip high enough to make the stuff slide out as easy. Sometimes things get caught on the machine d-ring tie down points. Also sometimes if the trailer floor is wet things will stick. Hope that helps. Cheers.

Now I just need to figure out how to take this 4 seater 3x3 sectional Grönlid couch apart without damaging it. Out of the handful of IKEA couches I’ve owned over the years, this one’s a tank at 100”x100” - yikes! I guess I should disassemble into the 5 sections (4 seats + 1 corner “seat”)?
