When I turned 30 years old, I told myself I wanted to feel comfortable in my skin. I meant I wanted to feel better, emotionally. Throughout the years I have come across different healing modalities. The best one has been self talk to my inner children. I was taught each one of us has not just one inner child but every age of ourselves still resides within and some of the ages can be in a suspended state due to unresolved issues or unexpressed emotions. The work I have done has been priceless and immeasurable. As an abused child I was never able to express how I felt, there was real danger in that for me. I’m so grateful that I have been able to allow the parts of myself that were sad, hurt, confused and seething out of their pain by validating all feelings thru EFT and chakra based healing among other useful techniques that help resolve wounds. One of my favorite quotes from You Can Heal Your Life is “The point of power is always in the present moment.” Just because I got older did not mean I grew up but I eventually stopped feeling like a scared little girl when I started my emotional healing process and my health greatly improved. That book saved my life along with the help of God. If I never went on this journey I would still be in a victim headspace puzzled why my life did not work or I’d no longer be on this planet. I will always be eternally grateful to Louise L. Hay. She has passed on now and I often thank her in spirit for her invaluable teachings.
