It's not picking on children. They are clueless and it's not their fault. It's picking on their coaches. I got my judo black belt at 16, started at 3 and was participating in the europeans and worlds already. Do you see the difference? I could throw any untrained adult with ease when I got it. Imagine them going against an adult, what would happen? There needs to be standards, if not it loses all meaning.
@@RocketScienceIsSimple I don’t care what your accomplishments are pal, the facts are you have a bunch of insecure keyboard warriors taking their frustrations out on a video for a local dojo from god knows where. If you’re gonna make your case for why children shouldn’t revive black belts this video is not the place to do so
@@slashxxrr I think anything under than 15 or 16 is wrong, and being required to be 18 wouldn't be crazy either, depending on the martial art. A bjj black belt and judo black belt don't mean the same thing. When posting or commenting you naturally open yourself criticism. There is 'taking their frustrations out' and making a légitimate point. These are not black belt level practioners, whatever age they would be. You don't have to even be smart to get it. I get that they might not be in a big city, have a lot of ressources, and tough compétition (if any), but rewarding the kids with a black belt can even be dangerous to them if they correlate having one and having skills, which should be the case. It gives them a false sense of security. I just think it was a very bad idea to give them that belt personally, for several reasons. I hope for them they get better if they like the art/sport but they probably will need to change dojo for that, it's just common sense.
@@RocketScienceIsSimple Nah you’re proving my point, you see videos like this and the first thing you did was spew your bs. It’s not your responsibility to tell these kids that their black belt doesn’t mean what they think it means. Fact is you don’t know the dojos situation. You don’t know what the instructors are telling them behind the scenes so why bother? I’m so sick of martial artists like you shitting on kids. And for the record I do agree that young children shouldn’t have black belts but you don’t see me acting like you

I'm 24 and I always love to see kids being active in a dojo, but what I hate the most is to give them of false meaning of "hard work". I am a Shotokan nidan and I remember still going to training session 3 days after catchiing malaria, training barefoot on hard concrete to perfect my kata and attend my exam. Handing them belts, and putting so much importance in the color of a belt means nothing if there's no hard earned work and study that back it up. Mc Dojo at its finest, it disgust me, and stains all traditional martial arts.
When I was thier age , studying shotakan in sheffield , UK in the 80's . There were no pretend boards , or gloves and pads , we practised our moves against each other , we did our training outside in the snow a, rain snd blazing sun on occasions. What a complete joke
Thank you for sharing this roll! JD is now my coach and he is an excellent instructor. I'm grateful to all of his past instructors and that I get to learn through him from them as well.
pathetic
Most of these kids are at the white belt level, not black belt.
Y’all are sad picking on a bunch of literal children
